According to Xinhua News Agency, the 8th National Congress of the China Disabled Persons' Federation closed in Beijing on the morning of September 20th, announcing the list of Honorary Chairmen, Presidium, and Executive Council of the 8th China Disabled Persons' Federation.
Among them, Cheng Kai was elected as the Chairman of the 8th Presidium of the China Disabled Persons Federation, and Zhou Changkui was elected as the Chairman of the 8th Executive Council of the China Disabled Persons Federation.
According to public information, Cheng Kai, male, Han ethnicity, born in November 1964, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He holds a postgraduate degree and a doctoral degree in literature. He has a physical disability and previously served as a member of the Party Group of the China Disabled Persons' Federation, Vice Chairman of the 7th Presidium, and Vice Chairman of the Executive Council.
Zhou Changkui, male, Han ethnicity, born in May 1968, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He holds a university degree and a Bachelor's degree in Law. Prior to this, he served as the Secretary of the Party Group of the China Disabled Persons' Federation, Vice Chairman of the 7th Presidium, Chairman of the Executive Council, and Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Beijing.
Previously, Zhang Haidi served as the Chairman of the 7th Presidium of the China Disabled Persons Federation.
Zhang Haidi, female, Han ethnicity, born in September 1955, is a member of the Communist Party of China. She holds a postgraduate degree and a master's degree in philosophy. She is a visiting scholar at the Bamberg International Artist House in Bavaria, Germany. She holds an honorary doctorate from the University of York in the UK and an honorary doctorate in art and humanities from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, USA. She is a national first-class writer with a physical disability.
She previously served as the Chairman of the 7th Presidium of the Chinese Disabled Persons' Federation, a Standing Committee Member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Deputy Secretary and Executive Chairman of the Party Group of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics Organizing Committee, Chairman of the Chinese Paralympic Committee, Member of the 9th Plenary Session of the Chinese Writers Association, Chairman of Rehabilitation International, and Representative of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
The China Disabled Persons Federation was established in March 1988. It is a people's organization recognized by national laws and approved by the State Council, composed of disabled persons, their relatives, friends, and artificial authors with disabilities. It is a unified organization for all types of disabled persons nationwide.
The highest authority of the Chinese Disabled Persons' Federation is the National Congress, which is held every five years. During the recess of the National Congress, the presidium elected by it is responsible for implementing the resolutions of the National Congress and leading the work of the All China Disabled Persons Federation. The Executive Council of the Chinese Disabled Persons Federation is a permanent executive body of the National Congress of the Chinese Disabled Persons Federation and its Presidium.
