Recently, there has been a growing international focus on development. In the BRICS Leaders Meeting series held in South Africa, leaders of various countries called on the international community to push development issues back to the core of the international agenda; At the just concluded ASEAN Summit and the series of East Asian Cooperation Leaders' Meetings, all ASEAN members refused to take sides and unanimously expressed their willingness to work together to promote economic recovery and growth, enhance economic integration, and emphasize regional peace and development; At the G20 New Delhi Summit, although some countries intended to forcefully push into geopolitical issues, with the unremitting efforts of developing countries, the declaration issued at the summit still highlighted the development theme of international economic cooperation
In today's world, although "camp confrontation" and "decoupling and disconnection" are surging against the current, the demand for development in the vast majority of countries, especially developing countries, is becoming increasingly strong, and the trend of expanding cooperation and exchanges is difficult to stop.
As the world's largest developing country, China has demonstrated firm will and great responsibility, working together with other developing countries to support the theme of global development in the midst of chaos. It has put forward global development initiatives, from actively building platforms to create opportunities for common development, to promoting multilateral mechanisms to focus on development, and then to strengthening mutually beneficial and win-win development strategies at the bilateral level. China is striving to add to common development and continuously inject new impetus into the global development cause.
At the recently concluded 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services, 59 countries and 24 international organizations held exhibitions and achieved more than 1100 results. China will also hold the third "the Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum, which will provide an important platform for all parties to jointly discuss the high-quality construction of the "the Belt and Road". At present, more than 90 countries have confirmed their participation. Cai Weicai, Senior Vice President of Kaitai Bank in Thailand, said that in the past few years, China has opened its doors to enterprises from around the world through large platforms such as the China International Fair for Trade in Services and the China International Import Expo, making positive contributions to promoting global trade and cooperation.

Unilateralism hinders the smooth progress of global common development. As a staunch defender of multilateralism and a backbone force for developing countries to unite and strengthen themselves, China actively promotes the development of various multilateral mechanisms and strives to build a global development partnership. From being the first to support the African Union's accession to the G20, to actively promoting the expansion of the BRICS, China's ability and wisdom in promoting more inclusive and sustainable development in the world, as well as its great country responsibility and pragmatic responsibility, are all reflected.
Wise men observe the same. China strives to expand the intersection of interests with other countries and is committed to promoting common development with countries around the world. Recently, leaders, high-ranking officials, and delegations from multiple countries have visited China intensively to explore cooperation and development with China. For long-term friendly partner countries, China is exploring how to further deepen cooperation with them. For example, during the visit of the President of Benin to China, China and Benin signed a number of bilateral cooperation documents on deepening the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", green development, digital economy and other fields, with fruitful results. For countries with differences on certain issues, China strives to promote seeking common ground while reserving differences, and expand mutually beneficial cooperation with them on the basis of resolving differences.
The most urgent issue facing the world today is the issue of development. The right path is to increase cooperation, reduce confrontation, increase unity, reduce division, and make the cake of common interests bigger. As Andrew Kibble, Senior Advisor for the Asia Pacific region of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies, said, "In this era full of uncertainty, it is necessary to expand openness, seize opportunities, strengthen cooperation, and achieve common development." The opening up of the world economy leads to prosperity, while closure leads to decline, a principle that has been repeatedly verified by history. Open cooperation is a historical trend, and mutual benefit and win-win are the aspirations of the people. China will always be committed to consolidating global development efforts, working together with other countries to do a good job in the "addition" of common development, striving to make the momentum of common development stronger, and create a better and more prosperous future for the world.
