What are the new highlights of the Huanglong Sports Center venue group, which has upgraded the assembled swimming pool runway into an Asian Games venue
By the West Lake in Hangzhou, the Huanglong Sports Center, with a history of more than 20 years, has recently undergone upgrading and renovation, with its old appearance replaced by a new one. During the Hangzhou Asian Games, the Huanglong Sports Center venue cluster will undertake the tasks of football, gymnastics, and water polo in three categories and five competitions.
CCTV reporter Wang Li: The glass curtain wall on the exterior looks like ripples caused by athletes entering the water. The swimming and diving hall at Huanglong Sports Center is the venue for the water polo competition at the Hangzhou Asian Games. A standard swimming pool measuring 50 meters in length and 25 meters in width, where water polo matches are held every day from the second competition day after the opening of the Asian Games. The swimming pool, which bears such a dense competition task, is actually a suspended "assembled swimming pool" in the air.

Due to the heavy weight of the pool water, its steel frame also needs to be made quite sturdy.
The total construction area of the swimming and diving hall is about 48000 square meters, which can accommodate more than 2300 spectators. It was officially opened for use in February 2018. Back then, the area where the competition swimming pool was located was opened to the public as a basketball court. When the venue was newly built, the need for later functional transformation and venue transformation was taken into consideration. Compared to traditional swimming pools, assembled swimming pools have features such as reuse and no damage to venue facilities, which can help improve venue utilization.

So, the space we left behind was assembled during major events, and the utilization rate this time was quite high. To transform it again, we just dismantled the assembled swimming pool.
CCTV reporter Wang Li: If we say that at the Huanglong Sports Center, the most popular runway among local residents should be this 1000 meter long aerial runway. The runway is located in the outer circle of the Huanglong Sports Center Stadium, consisting of two standard runways that are 1.2 meters wide, one fast and the other slow. If you want to run or take a walk, there is no problem.
Strolling on the runway in the air, the environment is beautiful and the scenery is picturesque. Since its opening in September last year, it has attracted many runners to come and experience check-in. As of the end of August this year, it has received a total of 400000 people.

With a quick swipe of your face, your exercise trajectory, running speed, physical energy consumption, and other data can be displayed. Different runners can also rank, clock in, and receive medals here.
From above, the runway looks like an orange red belt tied around the waist of the sports stadium. Walking inside, you will find the Huanglong Sports Center Stadium. As a football venue for the Hangzhou Asian Games, this area has introduced the internationally leading anchoring lawn system, which is a combination of natural turf and artificial grass fibers. It is more sturdy than ordinary lawns and can meet the requirements of high-frequency football matches during the Asian Games.

The real grass grows around it, so it protects the lawn quite well. That is to say, when playing football, the lawn will not kick off one by one.
The two LED circular screens between the seats in the stands, with an upper screen length of 590 meters and a lower screen length of 490 meters, can greatly enhance the viewing experience. As an open sports stadium with dual ring screens, the Huanglong Sports Center Stadium is still the first in China.
The sports arena, which is not far from the stadium and can accommodate more than 8000 spectators, will compete in three events: competitive gymnastics, artistic gymnastics, and trampoline. The newly added adjustable giant screen can rise up to 21 meters above the ground and also fall to the ground for maintenance. During the competition, it will provide a more intuitive and clear viewing experience for spectators sitting in various parts of the venue.
After the Asian Games, the newly renovated and upgraded Huanglong Sports Center venue cluster will continue to be open to the public, where the public can engage in daily sports such as basketball, swimming, tennis, and 13 other events. During peak hours, this place can accommodate up to 6200 people per day, meeting the requirements of professional competitions and ensuring the needs of national fitness.
