On September 19, 2023 local time, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, met with Enkhbayar, Secretary General of the Mongolian National Security Council, in Moscow.
Wang Yi said that China and Mongolia are connected by mountains and rivers, sharing weal and woe, and are good neighbors and partners. The two countries have strong mutual trust, profound friendship, and a blend of interests. Last year, the two heads of state successfully met and announced the joint construction of a community with a shared future between the two countries, pushing China Mongolia relations to a new level. As a comprehensive strategic partner and close neighbor, China has always respected the development path independently chosen by the Mongolian people. We are willing to work with Mongolia to implement the important consensus of the leaders of the two countries, deepen security cooperation between the two sides, and provide solid guarantees for the common development of both countries and regional peace and stability.
Enkhbayar stated that Mongolia and China have always respected each other's core interests and supported each other in the fight against the epidemic. Mongolia China relations are at their best in history. Mongolia values the friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, firmly adheres to a friendly policy towards China, and firmly adheres to the One China principle. The current international situation is turbulent and unstable. Mongolia adheres to multilateralism and is willing to strengthen security cooperation with China to help the development and prosperity of both countries.
Wang Yi stated that unilateral actions and hegemonism have long fallen behind the times, and the trend of world multipolarity is unstoppable. To achieve peace and security and build a multipolar system, we need to grasp three key words. One is equality. All countries, regardless of their size, wealth, or strength, are equal and have a fair right to development. The second is order. To jointly uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core, and to abide by the principles of the United Nations Charter and the recognized basic norms of international relations. The third is cooperation. Unite and collaborate, form joint forces, jointly address global challenges, and work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
