US and South Korean equipment will be unveiled, Poland conducts military exercises next to Russia's "enclave" tank | system | equipment
According to a report by Russian news agency on September 17th, the Polish government announced on its official website that the country's Ministry of Defense will conduct a "Autumn Fire" military exercise in the area adjacent to the Russian enclave on September 17th, and military equipment purchased from the United States and South Korea will be unveiled.
According to reports, the exercise was held at the Bemopinsky shooting range, 80 kilometers away from Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. The Polish government said in the announcement, "Audiences will witness the latest weapon combat exercises for the first time."
This exercise will use approximately 70 pieces of equipment, including tanks, aircraft, multiple rocket launchers, and other artillery. Among them are the Abrams main battle tank from the United States, the K2 tank from South Korea, the Hamas high mobility rocket launcher system, as well as Poland's self-developed air defense system, the Poplar anti missile system, and the K9 self-propelled howitzer.
Nearly a thousand soldiers will participate in this exercise and undergo offensive and defensive training.
The report mentioned that South Korea signed the largest arms export agreement in its history with Poland last year, exceeding 15 billion US dollars. It will provide 1000 K2 tanks to Warsaw, of which 180 will arrive in Warsaw by the end of 2025; 672 K9 self-propelled howitzers, of which 212 will be delivered to the Polish side by the end of 2026; 288 K239 "Tianwu" rocket artillery systems and 48 FA-50 fighter jets, of which 12 will be delivered by the end of this year. The performance indicators of the remaining 36 will be improved and will be provided to Poland from the second half of 2025 to the end of 2028.
