Two pharmaceutical companies apologize!, Involving bribery
Recently, two apology statements were posted on the Yunnan Provincial Drug Centralized Procurement Platform. Yunnan Baiyao's subsidiary Traditional Chinese Medicine Decoction Branch and Guangdong Yifang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Chinese Medicine, received a notice from the Yunnan Provincial Government Procurement and Transfer Center regarding the proposed rating of dishonest behavior of pharmaceutical enterprises due to their involvement in bribery cases. The two pharmaceutical companies apologized for this.
According to business information, Yunnan Baiyao Yinpian Company is a branch of Yunnan Baiyao. The company stated in an apology statement that recently, the Yunnan Provincial Government Procurement and Transfer Center issued a notice on the proposed rating of dishonest behavior in pharmaceutical enterprises. The notice was based on a judgment on a certain hospital, which mentioned that the former regional manager of Yunnan Baiyao Traditional Chinese Medicine Decoction Branch was suspected of personal bribery.
Yunnan Baiyao Yinpian Company attaches great importance to this: on the one hand, it actively cooperates with judicial authorities to investigate and verify the case, understand the facts; On the other hand, the internal control system was immediately improved and upgraded. Firstly, the relevant business cooperation was terminated as soon as possible. Secondly, the internal control process was reorganized and rectified to strengthen internal management capabilities. Thirdly, the relevant employees were terminated from their labor contracts.
The Apology Statement of Guangdong Yifang Pharmaceutical is also derived from the aforementioned Notice on the Proposed Rating of Dishonest Behaviors of Pharmaceutical Enterprises. If one pharmaceutical company did not explain the specific reason, it stated in an apology statement that it will adhere to strict and practical rectification of relevant issues in the company's operations, firmly adhere to the principles of integrity and discipline, and continuously improve the effective carrier and practical approach for promoting the "three non corruption".
It is worth mentioning that not many pharmaceutical companies have publicly apologized for their involvement in bribery issues before.
Most relevant provinces have established similar credit evaluation mechanisms in accordance with the Notice on the Operating Norms of Pharmaceutical Price and Procurement Credit Evaluation. Other provinces mostly directly announce credit downgrades, pull them into the blacklist for online listing, and cannot apply for online listing again on a yearly basis. Yunnan Province conducts a "proposed rating".
Most of the companies that have previously issued public apology statements have publicly issued apology letters due to high drug prices, such as Shiyao Yinhu Pharmaceutical, Yabang Pharmaceutical, Yuanda Pharmaceutical, and Wuhan Jiuan Pharmaceutical.
