Recently, the General Office of the State Administration for Market Regulation issued a notice on doing a good job in food safety during the Mid Autumn Festival and National Day period in 2023, deploying food safety work during the Mid Autumn Festival and National Day period.
Notification requirements
Market supervision departments in various regions should attach great importance to food safety work during festivals, adhere to problem orientation, strengthen risk awareness, tighten the responsibility of enterprise entities and local management, strengthen supervision and inspection, and spot check monitoring, fully investigate risk hazards, severely punish illegal and irregular behaviors, effectively ensure food safety, and ensure that the people spend happy and peaceful holidays.
The notice clearly states that
In view of the characteristics of seasonal foods such as moon cakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival, we should strengthen the supervision of the production process, increase the frequency of supervision and inspection of bulk food production enterprises, and compact the main responsibilities of enterprises; We should focus on key units, locations, and businesses, strengthen the investigation of food safety risks and comprehensive management of hidden dangers in business operations, and strictly prevent food safety accidents; We need to organize special supervision and sampling of holiday hot selling food, promptly dispose of unqualified food, and effectively prevent and control risks; We must crack down on illegal and irregular behaviors strictly and quickly, increase the exposure of cases, and form effective deterrence; Timely release holiday related food safety consumption tips, actively accept and handle consumer complaints and reports, and effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of consumers; We must be on duty and emergency response during holidays, resolutely prevent small risks from becoming major problems, and make every effort to ensure the food safety of the people.
