The number of campus shooting incidents in the United States has reached a new high for two consecutive years, according to the World Report! Gun Control Organization: This is the consequence of years of policy inaction
According to the Guardian website on September 14th, the latest data from the National Center for Education Statistics in the United States shows that the number of school shooting incidents in the United States has reached a historical peak for the second consecutive year, which is very unsettling.

According to NCES data, between 2021 and 2022, a total of 327 shooting incidents occurred in private and public schools across the United States, including primary and secondary schools, setting a record high. These incidents include people waving firearms, shooting or bullets hitting school property on campus.
NCES data also shows that out of the 327 recorded incidents, 188 incidents resulted in casualties, with 57 fatalities.
The report states that this series of campus shooting incidents has doubled compared to the previous year and is also the highest level since the statistics were recorded 25 years ago. From 2020 to 2021, there were a total of 146 campus shootings in the United States, of which 93 caused casualties, and 43 of these incidents resulted in fatalities.

At the same time, there has been an astonishing increase in the number of campus shooting incidents in the United States that have not caused any casualties. From 2021 to 2022, there were 139 campus shooting incidents with no casualties, more than double the previous year's 53 incidents.
The US shooting case once again exposed the powerlessness of gun control.
The NCES report shows that in the past decade, public schools across the United States have strengthened security measures. At present, about 97% of schools have control over entrances, 91% of schools have installed surveillance cameras, and 65% of schools arrange security personnel to be on campus at least once a week. However, the sharp increase in campus shooting incidents in the past two years may further exacerbate concerns about campus safety in the United States.
Sara Bode Sharps, a senior researcher at the gun control advocacy group "Bring Gun Safety to Every Town," said in a statement that the new data is very unsettling. "The threat of gun violence in schools and communities has become a norm in children's lives, but campus shootings are not inevitable, they are the result of years of policy inaction.".
The new federal report does not provide data for the years 2022 to 2023, but during that year, the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvaldi, Texas, USA resulted in the deaths of 19 students and 2 teachers. Federal agencies have not yet conducted statistical processing on new incidents, and shooting incidents are still occurring at a worrying frequency on campuses.
