The governor is here first!, Before the Australian Prime Minister's visit to China
According to the Canberra Times website on September 14th, as the first Governor of South Australia to step onto Chinese soil since 2019, Peter Malinowskas has realized the budding relationship between Australia and its largest trading partner.
According to reports, shortly after Australian Prime Minister Albanese announced that he would visit China before the end of the year, on the 14th, Malinowskas visited China.
Local producers hope that the increasing dialogue can demonstrate that Australia has once again won favor after years of punitive trade restrictions and hawkish rhetoric.
According to reports, after the governors of Victoria and Western Australia visited China earlier this year, Malinowskas led a delegation from fields such as education, wine, agriculture, aquaculture, and tourism.
Malinowskas said that the main purpose of his trip is to persuade Chinese officials to lift trade restrictions that affect South Australian lobster and wine.
He said in a media interview, "Against the backdrop of maintaining stability with China at the federal level, many hardworking and kind South Australians hope to see a reduction in punitive tariffs because it has had a huge impact on their living standards."
It is reported that during his visit to China, Malinowskas will travel to Beijing, Shanghai, and Shandong.

In addition to tariffs, the focus of the trade delegation also includes attracting Chinese students to study in South Australia.
The government plans to merge the two largest educational institutions in the state, the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia, to attract more international students.
