Data shows that since the establishment of the People's Republic of China, Dengkou County has managed a total of 2.1 million acres of deserts, increasing the forest and grass coverage in sandy areas from 0.04% to 37.2%, and treating 450000 acres of severely desertified land, a decrease of 78%. The annual sediment transport to the Yellow River has decreased to 3.7 million tons, a decrease of 94.7%. Desert management has shown a good trend of "overall improvement and accelerated improvement", thus forming the "Dengkou model" for sand prevention and control.

It is understood that the new model of "photovoltaic+ecological governance" will enable Dengkou County to complete the task of 1.68 million acres of desert governance around 2030, achieve full coverage of desertification control in the county, and achieve a forest and grass coverage rate of over 50%.
