The Taiwan Youth Historical and Cultural Exchange Camp concluded on the 15th in Dalian, Liaoning. During the 5-day journey, 19 Taiwanese youths went to Shenyang, Benxi, and Dalian in Liaoning Province to browse historical materials of the Anti Japanese War, appreciate folk customs, and experience maritime culture.
When sharing their insights on this trip with reporters from China News Network, several Taiwanese youth expressed that they had witnessed many content that they had only seen in textbooks, which was very vivid and fruitful.

"The September 18 Incident is vividly remembered."
The Shenyang September 18th History Museum has left a deep impression on Taiwanese youth. Huang Guanwei, a Taiwanese student from the School of Economics and Management at Northeastern Normal University, told reporters that there are only a few introductions to the "September 18 Incident" in Taiwanese textbooks, and the cultural relics, sculptures, and scenes in the museum are vividly portrayed, making it "a tremendous impact that cannot be forgotten about this period of history.".
Shi Liyi, a Taiwanese student at the School of Journalism and Communication at Central University for Nationalities, believes that the design of the museum is very ingenious. "The exhibition area that tells the story of the fall of Northeast China is moving downwards, and after the people of Northeast China rose up in rebellion, the audience also began to move upwards. We followed the footsteps of history and saw hope.".
"Mother doesn't need a thousand words to educate you, she uses practice to educate you." The letter written to her son by Zhao Yiman, a heroic martyr of the Anti Japanese War, before his death deeply touched Liu Yintian, a Taiwanese student at the Law School of Central University for Nationalities. He said, "I feel the spiritual power of hard struggle. Taiwan was once under Japanese colonial rule for 50 years, and her belief also inspires us younger generations."

"Rural tourism has a lot of fun"
In early autumn, located in Benxi Manchu Autonomous County, Benxi City, there is a national 4A level scenic spot called "Small Market and One Village". The unique buildings are scattered and picturesque, with green trees and clear springs covering it. Zhou Xuwei, a Taiwanese student majoring in clinical medicine at China Medical University, likes local apple chips and handmade pancakes. She said that the experience of playing, eating, and staying here is very good, and she looks forward to strengthening exchanges between the two sides in rural tourism.
Taiqing also visited Yongziyu Village in Nanfen District, Benxi City, where the Manchu population accounts for 67%. "I came to the Manchu village for the first time and learned about the history, clothing, and culinary culture of the Manchu people." Lin Yixin, a Taiwanese student at the School of Literature at Central University for Nationalities, said, "The hygiene conditions in the village are much better than I imagined, and the specialty agricultural products are also very rich." Through this trip, she has more longing for the beautiful rivers and mountains of the motherland and the local customs and traditions.

"The significance of cross-strait exchanges is profound"
Accompanied by the sea breeze, Taiwanese youths boarded the teaching internship ship "Yukun" at Dalian Maritime University. The "Yukun" ship has good navigation performance and safety, equipped with advanced testing and scientific research equipment. It sailed directly to Taiwan in May 2009 for maritime education exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
"Taiwan is surrounded by the sea on all sides, and it is meaningful to strengthen cooperation with the mainland in maritime education," said Chen Chunyun, a Taiwanese student at the School of Automation at Beijing University of Science and Technology. "It is also touching to experience the development of technology and maritime transportation in mainland China, and the united strength of sailors working together."
Zhu Liyu, a Taiwanese exchange student from the School of Political Science and Law at Northeastern Normal University, is a first-time member of the "first generation" to visit mainland China. He believes that the mainland is open and inclusive in cultural exchange, and this journey has made him cherish the time spent studying and living here more and more, willing to explore more historical connections between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
