Shanghai Nangang Port has made a new breakthrough in automobile exports, with 250 domestically produced buses loaded onto ships for export
Recently, at the Nangang Port in Shanghai, the Marshall Islands based "Dawn Prosperity" ship, after completing the exit border inspection procedures, loaded 250 Yutong buses and more than 10 domestic brands such as BYD, Chery, Ford, and JAC, totaling 1922 domestic cars, heading towards the port of Corinth, Nicaragua. The shipment of multiple brands and types of vehicle models makes the ship seem like a domestic automobile exhibition hall, with Yutong Bus being exported in bulk from Shanghai Nangang Port for the first time.
With the continuous optimization of China's foreign trade structure, automotive products continue to become export highlights. As a key layout of Shanghai's automobile roll on/roll off shipping strategy "moving south", there will be approximately 780000 roll on/roll off vehicles for domestic and foreign trade at Shanghai Nangang Port in 2022, accounting for 27% of the total import and export of roll on/roll off vehicles at Shanghai Port. It is planned to complete 1.16 million roll on/roll off vehicles by 2023.
Since the beginning of this year, there have been new breakthroughs in the brand, model, and roll on/roll off mode of automobile exports at Shanghai Nangang Port. According to the Yangshan Border Inspection Station, this loading operation involves a large number of vehicle models such as buses, pickups, heavy-duty trucks, construction vehicles, and small and medium-sized vans. The shipping company needs to adjust the position of the cabin panels and adjust the cabin space according to the size of the vehicle models, and implement roll on/roll off operations in batches. Therefore, the "Dawn Prosperity" ship stayed in Hong Kong for about 35 hours, which is longer than the single roll on/roll off model.
For the operation mode of roll on/roll off of multiple types of vehicles on the same vessel, Yangshan Border Inspection Station is on duty 24/7, handling pre inspection procedures for the vessel in advance to ensure that the vessel can start operations upon arrival at the port; Through the "Port Border Inspection Comprehensive Management Information System" and "Port Health Management System", various types of enterprise entry requirements are approved in real-time, and temporary boarding and disembarking permits are issued to meet the 24-hour operation needs of workers.
Wu Xinrong, a police officer from the third duty team of Yangshan Border Inspection Station, stated that in order to meet the periodic needs of enterprises for boarding foreign ships, the team issues administrative permits online and extends the validity period of the documents, saving time for enterprises to apply for certificates.
