Samaranch's "Soul Quest" and the Three Generations of Sports Family Inheritance The senior tells the story of the Asian Games
The 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou is about to kick off. Apart from the shining moments and gold medal winning moments of top athletes, what else can we pay attention to? On September 22nd, at a media briefing between the Asian Olympic Council and the Hangzhou Organizing Committee for the Asian Games, two senior athletes shared their stories of the Asian Games with reporters. They had an unknown conscience and a relay of generations of athletes.
The spirit of the Asian Games may shine in these ordinary and special moments.
The first story: Samaranch's "Question of the Soul"
At the briefing, Wei Jizhong, the 87 year old Honorary Vice Chairman of the Asian Olympic Council, appeared. He has participated in the Olympic bid three times and is known as the "father of China's sports industry", with significant influence in the sports industry.
On the spot, he first shared an exciting set of data: all 45 National Olympic Committees of the Asian Olympic Council of the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games have registered, with over 12000 registered athletes, setting a record for the largest number of registrations in history.
What does this mean? Wei Jizhong continued, "Our Asian Games is not only a competitive competition for elite athletes, but also a sports carnival open to all sports enthusiasts. It is a grand event shared by the Asian people."

Then, Wei Jizhong told his story. The Hangzhou Asian Games consists of 40 major events, 61 sub events, and 481 sub events, making it the Asian Games with the most events. Previously, Juan Antonio Samaranch, the lifetime honorary president of the International Olympic Committee, seriously asked Wei Jizhong why so many sports were included in the Asian Games?
Wei Jizhong replied that the competitive results are important, but they are not the entirety of the Asian Games. What is truly important is that we hope more athletes have the opportunity to participate in this grand event. Only by incorporating more regional sports into the Asian Games can more athletes win medals and promote the status of sports in society.
Data shows that in the previous Asian Games, over 80% of the Asian Olympic delegations and countries won medals. "When athletes win medals, it will greatly stimulate people's love for sports and also encourage the local government to increase support for the sports industry. We call on media reporters not only to report on elite athletes, but also to pay more attention to ordinary athletes," Wei Jizhong said.
The second story: A special moment for Raja Randil Singh
"How do you understand the theme slogan of the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games, 'Heart to Heart Integration, @ Future'?"
At the scene, a journalist asked Raja Randir Singh, the acting chairman of the Olympic Council of Asia.

"I believe that the Hangzhou Asian Games is a sports event that represents peace and harmony. 'Heart to heart integration' is a call to the whole world, symbolizing the joint efforts and cooperation of Asian people towards a better future. Holding a sports event at the Asian Games level requires such strength, which is also a unique advantage of Asian people." Raja Randir Singh said that on behalf of the Asian Olympic Council, I pay tribute to the Hangzhou Asian Organizing Committee for the Games by proposing such a theme slogan. We are very willing to promote and disseminate this slogan.
The promotion of the Asian Games cannot be separated from the actions of each and every one of us, and I also hope that the younger generation can learn something from it.
Raja Randir Singh also shared his story.
"In 1982, when my father was serving on the Asian Olympic Council, I was representing the Indian national team. And this year, my daughter is preparing for the upcoming shooting competition, and I am very much looking forward to her performance. Like all fathers in the world, Raja Randir Singh does not hide his pride.".
"This is a very special moment for me, and it is also a legacy of the Asian Games spirit from generation to generation. I wish my daughter and all athletes good results," Raja Randir Singh said passionately.
After listening to the touching story, the reporter also met many colleagues outside the venue, such as DINARA NIGMATULLLAEVA, a text journalist from RENESSANS TV in Uzbekistan with a pair of beautiful big eyes. She and her colleagues were all wearing the same clothes and shoes: a blue and white main color tone, consistent with the flag of Uzbekistan, and the backpack also had the name of Uzbekistan printed on it. She was confidently holding up the microphone and facing the camera to complete a fast-paced live report. After that, they were ready to go around and taste some Hangzhou cuisine.

On the side, photographer RAFEQ MOHAMMED from Sydney, who had just learned to practice an eight section brocade from volunteers, was surrounded by a group of peers, asking him about his feelings after practicing. "It's wonderful. This traditional Chinese sport has made me feel comfortable and gained more strength. I think I will study it well in the coming days," he said.
