Russian Ambassador to the United States: This statement by US officials is a lie
Russian Ambassador to the United States: The United States should take practical measures to eliminate obstacles to the resumption of agreements for the export of agricultural products from Black Sea ports.
Russian Ambassador to the United States Antonov
Russian Ambassador to the United States Antonov stated on the 16th local time that Russia has repeatedly stated that the door to the resumption of the Black Sea port agricultural export agreement is open, and the United States should take practical measures to lift relevant sanctions against Russia, eliminate obstacles to the resumption of the agreement, and ensure the smooth export of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers. Antonov also stated that the recent claim by US government officials that Russia is constantly changing the conditions for restoring the agreement is a lie.
On July 22, 2022, Russia and Ukraine respectively signed relevant agreements with Türkiye and the United Nations on the export of agricultural products from Black Sea ports. The agreement is valid for 120 days and has been extended three times. In July this year, due to dissatisfaction with the ineffective implementation of Russian food and fertilizer exports, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the agreement would not be extended from July 18th onwards.
