The spokesperson for the Governor of Zamfara Oblast, Mujila Yusuf, said that in the early hours of the 22nd local time, a group of armed personnel attacked the student residence of the Gusau Federal University in the Sabangjida area of the state, kidnapping 24 students, 10 school workers, and 1 security guard. Currently, Nigerian security forces are actively rescuing kidnapped individuals.
Nura Abdullah, a student who escaped from the attack, described that armed personnel were divided into two groups and broke into the student's residence around 3am.
The staff of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria said that there have been no reports of Chinese citizens being kidnapped in this incident.
