Pudong hosts the National Cybersecurity Awareness Week "Campus Day" to enhance the awareness of cybersecurity among young people
"Will our 'little love classmates' eavesdrop on our speeches?" "Surprisingly, this game website is fake?" "Can AI really change faces?"... On September 12th, in the Jiande Hall of Jianping Experimental High School in Shanghai, students and experts who came to participate in the National Cybersecurity Promotion Week Pudong New Area "Campus Day" activity interacted frequently and had lively discussions.
From September 11th to 17th, it will be the National Cybersecurity Awareness Week, with the theme of "Cybersecurity for the People, Cybersecurity relies on the People". The "Campus Day" event in Pudong New Area is jointly organized by the Pudong New Area Committee Cyberspace Office, the District Education Bureau, the Youth League Committee, and the Yong'an City Committee Cyberspace Office. The aim is to enhance the awareness of network security among young people in both areas, establish self-protection awareness, and cultivate good internet habits.
During the event, experts, teachers, and classmates in the field of cybersecurity gathered together. Wang Qiang, Secretary General of the Shanghai Information Security Association, led the students to analyze various hidden cybersecurity risks around them, such as "What should we do if smart speakers eavesdrop on us?". Xu Yu, Vice Dean of the Research Institute of Shanghai Information Security Evaluation and Certification Center, led his classmates to "come and find fault" on site, checking website domain names, checking website registration information, and learning to distinguish illegal and counterfeit websites such as cheats, practice agents, and playmates; Dr. Dai Qinyun from the Shanghai Branch of the National Network Emergency Response Coordination Center brought a short video explaining the risks of online social interaction, which made students realize once again that the scene in the movie "All for One" is not far from us. The students expressed that through interaction with experts, they deeply understand that network security awareness needs to be maintained at all times and a secure "firewall" should be firmly built in their minds.
It is worth noting that this event is the first time since the cooperation between Pudong New Area and Yong'an City, Sanming City, Fujian Province, that teenagers from the two areas have resonated on the same frequency in the field of cybersecurity. In the network security knowledge quiz competition launched before the "Campus Day" event, teenagers from Pudong New Area and Yong'an City actively participated, attracting nearly 200000 participants within 24 hours, creating a strong atmosphere of everyone striving to become "network security experts".
