Protect the green resources around us together! New Area Forest Chief Office invites private forest chiefs to visit wetlands
Folk forest chiefs are an important support team for promoting the forest chief system at the grassroots level in Pudong New Area. They mainly participate in the promotion and supervision of the forest chief system within their residential or work areas. On September 20th, the Forest Chief Office of the New Area invited some representatives of private forest chiefs to visit Jinhai Wetland Park to understand the unique ecological value of wetlands, feel the vitality of wetlands, and motivate them to further work in promoting the forest chief system.
Jinhai Wetland Park is located at No. 198 Mintang Road, Caolu Town, with a total area of 41.8 hectares. It is characterized by "wetland+interactive experience+natural science popularization" and is the only park on the outer green belt of Shanghai that features wetlands. There are large lakes and rivers in the park, with abundant aquatic plants such as reeds and lotus, abundant fish and shrimp, abundant natural resources, and a good ecological environment foundation.
During the activity, the folk forest leaders, under the guidance of the guide, utilized various exhibition equipment in the Jinhai Wetland Science Popularization Museum to gain a detailed understanding of the definition, function, value, and other basic information of wetlands, as well as rich species diversity. Subsequently, the folk forest leaders followed the tour guide to the small and micro wetland site to observe, listen to bird songs, observe the beautiful bird shadows passing by from time to time in the air, and further explore the fun and mystery of the wetland.

This event has strengthened the awareness and understanding of wetland ecosystems among folk forest leaders, enhanced their awareness of protecting and cherishing wetlands, and strengthened their sense of responsibility. They have a profound understanding of the significant significance of comprehensively promoting the forest leader system. Yang Dayong, a folk forest chief from Beicai Town, said, "As a folk forest chief, I am very happy to participate in this event. We usually participate in the daily patrol work and forest protection activities in the town. In the future, we will also mobilize family and friends to help the forest chief's work, jointly protect the green resources around us, and protect our living environment."
It is reported that Pudong New Area will start recruiting private forest leaders from 2022. As of now, there are 2533 private forest leaders in 36 streets and towns in the entire region. The participation of private forest chiefs has further improved the social supervision system of the Pudong forest chief system, effectively playing a role in social collaborative participation and joint management.
The new district forest chief office introduced that a series of "forest chief system is by your side" activities will be carried out in the future, organizing various rich theme lectures, activity guides, photography activities, etc. Regularly publishing activity registration information on the "Pudong Forest Chief" mini program, and launching a private forest chief point system, which is used to exchange for opportunities to participate in various activities, in order to attract more volunteers, private forest chiefs, social figures, etc. who are enthusiastic about participating in ecological environment protection work to join the team of forest protection.
