On September 21st, local time, an article published on the website of Foreign Affairs magazine stated that the United States has become an exporter of white supremacism and is harming the world.
The article states that the spread of domestic conspiracy theories, racial superiority theories, and anti government extremism in the United States has become an issue internationally, to the extent that some of America's closest allies classify certain groups and citizens as foreign terrorists.
Due to the development of technology, racism, anti Semitism, and xenophobia can quickly gain a global audience and play a role among international voters. These ideologies spread across the ocean through social media, influencing some extremists abroad to emulate white supremacists in the United States and carry out killings in their own countries.
In March 2019, white supremacist Brenton Tarant killed 51 believers in two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. He linked his choice of weapon - mainly an AR-15 assault rifle - to its potential impact in the United States, claiming that he chose this firearm because it would have an impact on social discourse, bring additional media coverage, and have an impact on American politics, thereby affecting the world political situation.

In October 2022, a white supremacist killed two people in a bar in the Slovak capital Bratislava. Although there has been little coverage in the US media, this incident reflects the negative impact of this "American made" ideology. The gunman issued a declaration before the attack, explaining their intentions. The declaration, written in English, contained elements of racism and anti Semitism, which had become a common tactic in such hate filled violence. This mode is now commonplace. The gunman also mentioned in the manifesto that the white supremacist terrorist attack that occurred earlier that year at a supermarket in a black community in Buffalo, New York, inspired him. More importantly, the declaration expresses recognition of the white supremacist ideology centered around the United States, which has been widely spread in the United States and other countries in recent years.
The Capitol riot that occurred on January 6, 2021 also inspired others who were also trying to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power in their own country. Earlier this year, in Brazil, a group of rioters with similar dissatisfaction as Trump supporters attempted to emulate the rioters in the Capitol building and stormed into the center of the capital government, hoping to overturn the election results. Their candidate, Borsonaro, witnessed the development of the incident on television in the self exiled state of Florida, USA. Supporters of Borsonaro even sought guidance and advice from former senior White House officials, including former senior advisor to Trump Bannon.
Terrorist expert Levitt said that the United States has become an exporter of right-wing extremism.
At the end of the article, it is stated that with the spread of right-wing extremism in the United States, even its partner countries have had to take measures to try to prevent this ideology from flowing into the country. For example, the Canadian government has identified an organization called "Proud Boys" that participated in the January 6, 2021 congressional riots in the United States as a terrorist entity. In addition, Canada also classified other neoNazi movements based in the United States as terrorist entities.
