On trial! Accused of bribery exceeding 100 million and bribery exceeding 14.53 million, Che Ming
On September 13, 2023, the Intermediate People's Court of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, publicly held the first instance trial of the case of Che Ming, former deputy general manager of Jiuquan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., accepting bribes, bribing, and misappropriating public funds.
The People's Procuratorate of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, accuses that from November 2006 to January 2015, the defendant Che Ming used his position as the General Manager, Chairman, and Assistant to the General Manager of Gansu Longtai Mining Co., Ltd. to facilitate cooperation between Longtai Company and Chen Deting, and jointly established Subei Detai Mining Company. All the mined ore was supplied to Jiugang Group, and he received a total of 21.2 million yuan from Chen Deting multiple times.
During the period from 2000 to 2018, the defendant Che Ming took advantage of his position as Deputy Manager, Manager, Party Branch Secretary, General Manager of Gansu Longtai Mining Co., Ltd., Chairman and General Manager of Longtai Co., Ltd., Assistant General Manager of Jiuquan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., and Deputy General Manager to provide assistance to Liu Ping, Chen Deting, and Wang Baotian in business contracting, equity changes, and other aspects. He received a total of 82.2 million yuan from Liu Ping, Chen Deting, and Wang Baotian multiple times, and illegally obtained 600000 yuan.
During the period from 2006 to 2012, the defendant Che Ming, in gratitude for the help provided by Zheng Yajun, the former Secretary of the Jiayuguan Municipal Party Committee, in his promotion and business contracting, repeatedly gave Zheng Yajun property equivalent to RMB 14.53108 million.
In July 2009, Che Ming took advantage of his position and instructed Li Yanhu to transfer 1 million yuan from the account of Yongdeng Longtai Company to others. Until June 2016, when the Gansu Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection verified the clues related to Cheming's issues, 1 million yuan was transferred to the account of the Jiugang Commission for Discipline Inspection. Propose to hold the defendant Che Ming criminally responsible for the crimes of bribery, bribery, and embezzlement of public funds.
In order to improve the quality and efficiency of court hearings, in accordance with the requirements of the "Three Regulations" of the Supreme People's Court, the collegial panel organized pre court meetings for prosecutors and defense counsel around procedural matters; During the trial, under the auspices of the court, both the prosecution and defense conducted a court investigation and debate around the facts of the charges, fully expressing their opinions. The defendant, Che Ming, made a final statement and confessed and repented in court. The court has protected the various litigation rights of the defendant and defense counsel in accordance with the law.
More than 400 people, including representatives of the National People's Congress, members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, some government officials and employees, and the families of the defendants, attended the trial. This case will be sentenced at a later date.
