Never stop burning in the converter (Chinese Road, Chinese Dream), the flame of innovation
Transforming rough ore into high-quality molten steel requires multiple processes of quenching and refining; To become a "steel" youth, just like this. From my first day on the job, I aspired to become a qualified steelmaker. Nowadays, as a skilled technician in the factory, my most valuable experience is to persist in innovation.
Creativity may suddenly shine, but innovation often requires accumulated efforts over time. Only by putting effort into daily life and observing carefully in practice can we find new breakthroughs. When I joined, I was a loading worker. At that time, the 260 ton converter in the factory had just been put into use, and I had to climb up to a height of 57 meters every day to move dozens of pounds of debugging equipment back and forth. Although I often feel exhausted, I still persist in reading books, learning theories, and jotting down unfamiliar parameters and some precautions in a small notebook that I carry with me. After work, I repeatedly ponder, consult information, and seek advice from senior colleagues. Regard the job position as a platform for growth, practice and learn from the past in order to continuously improve.
To transform the accumulation of knowledge and skills into the improvement of production efficiency, innovation is the key leap. Steelmaking requires lime as the raw material, and at that time, an average of 35 kilograms of lime were needed to produce 1 ton of steel in the 260 ton converter steelmaking plant. My colleagues and I worked together and repeatedly verified, and summarized a new method of "less slag smelting", which reduced ash consumption to 15 kilograms per ton of steel. Based on the production capacity in the factory, this alone can save millions of yuan per month. Innovation is endless, and the new problems that come with it still need to be solved through innovation. In the initial stage of using the new method, the lining of the converter was severely corroded. After analysis and research, I found that the crux of the problem is the insufficient viscosity of the slag. By chemical cooling, adhesion can be enhanced and corrosion can be reduced. It has been proven that this innovative measure is feasible and can bring benefits of over 20 million yuan per year. It can be seen that with knowledge and skills as the foundation, innovation has a source of vitality.
Innovation also requires promoting the spirit of perseverance, passion, and perseverance. In order to overcome difficulties, my colleagues and I will live and eat in the factory, record data one by one, and explore feasible methods. Some people joke that after waking up, they will have toothache because they are all "gnawing on hard bones" in their dreams. Develop a mini program for "reducing iron consumption, compensating for silicon and increasing silicon", propose reasonable suggestions for reducing the number of torpedo tanks and improving the temperature of molten iron entering the furnace, participate in company level projects related to technology development and application, and support us with innovative spirit to overcome difficulties and ultimately achieve our goals. When the spirit of innovation becomes stronger and the atmosphere of innovation becomes stronger, "golden ideas" and "new paths" to promote technological development will spring up like mushrooms after rain. Before the scorching converter, our work may seem ordinary, but as long as we constantly add "innovative materials" to the steelmaking furnace, it can give traditional industries vitality.
