(Micro Asian Games) Hangzhou Asian Games Volunteer as Torchbearer: Meeting like-minded PhD students while running | Torchbearer | Volunteer
"It is a great honor for me to be a torchbearer in my hometown, and the spiritual qualities conveyed by torchbearers from all walks of life are also worth learning from," said Qi Bote, a doctoral student at Zhejiang University and a volunteer for the Hangzhou Asian Games on September 19th.
On that day, the Quzhou Station of the 19th Asian Games Torch Relay in Hangzhou was launched, with Qi Bote serving as the 23rd torchbearer.

Qi Bo has a unique "multiple identity": a former athlete, a doctoral student at Zhejiang University, and a volunteer for the Hangzhou Asian Games who receives foreign athletes one-on-one.
"When I was a child, my parents hoped that I would strengthen my body and become more outgoing. In high school, I was admitted to Zhejiang University through my sports skills. Now, I am engaged in interdisciplinary research on sports, mainly focusing on the impact of sports on brain damage," said Qi Bote.
Although he has been away from competitive sports for a long time, Qi Bote is still active on the field as a volunteer.
"I have always been passionate about participating in volunteer service, and there is a saying that left a deep impression on me, roughly 'Participating in volunteer service shows that you can see others in your eyes.' That's what I want to be." He said.
Benefiting from the new model of "four wheel drive, four all inclusive" volunteer service and education built by Zhejiang University, Qi Bote has participated in more than 10 volunteer services in the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, the National Youth Creation Competition, the China "Internet plus" Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the National Student Games and other large-scale games since he was a college student, and has participated in supporting education, rural research and other services for more than 1000 hours.
In Qi Bote's view, volunteer service can not only "give roses to others and leave a lingering fragrance," but also meet a group of like-minded friends. "People gather together because of their interests, and most of them are similar people. Over the years, I have been keeping in touch with many volunteer friends I have met during activities, and some have also become good friends," he said.
After the torch relay, Qi Bote will rush back to Hangzhou to participate in volunteer services for the Asian Games. After the service is completed, he will devote himself to a new stage of doctoral research. "This research involves multiple fields such as competitive sports and medical diagnosis, and I am currently 'exploring and advancing'." Qi Bote said, looking forward to meeting more like-minded people in the field of education and sports, so that everyone can 'illuminate' each other and have in-depth discussions.
