Li Xi attended the Havana Summit of the Group of 77 and China and delivered a speech

Li Xi stated that the world is experiencing unprecedented changes in a century, and the power of developing countries is constantly growing. South South cooperation is playing an increasingly important role in maintaining the collective rise of developing countries and promoting stable growth of the world economy. At the same time, unilateralism and hegemonism are still rampant, especially with some countries resorting to unilateral sanctions and decoupling, seriously damaging the legitimate development rights and space of developing countries. Developing countries generally hope to strengthen unity and cooperation, and promote global governance reform towards a more just and reasonable direction. China is willing to work together with Cuba and other members of the Group of 77 to build a global community with a shared future in the South and create a new era of common development.

Li Xi proposed three suggestions on cooperation between the Group of 77 and China. One is to uphold the original aspiration of independence, unity, and self-improvement, adhere to the common values of all mankind, firmly oppose group confrontation and Cold War thinking, adhere to resolving differences and disputes between countries through peaceful means, and jointly safeguard world peace and tranquility. The second is to promote the spirit of fairness, justice, equality, and inclusiveness, actively speak out and preside over justice in important international occasions such as the United Nations General Assembly, promote the United Nations agenda to align with the development interests of developing countries, urge developed countries to effectively fulfill their development assistance commitments, and expand the voice and representation of developing countries. The third is to fulfill the mission of development, revitalization, and win-win cooperation, work together to revitalize global development partnerships, cultivate new driving forces for development in various countries, carry out cooperation around food security, poverty reduction, industrialization, green development, digital technology, artificial intelligence, etc., build an open, inclusive, and mutually beneficial South South South technology cooperation system, promote equal access to digital dividends for all countries, and ensure that developing countries do not fall behind or lack opportunities in the development of new technologies and industries.

Li Xi stated that China is the world's largest developing country. No matter to what extent China develops, it will always be a member of the developing country family and a member of the global southern countries. China has always regarded South South cooperation as a priority direction for foreign cooperation.China has provided development assistance to more than 160 countries, worked with more than 150 countries to build the "the Belt and Road", and worked with more than 100 countries and international organizations to promote cooperation in global development initiatives.China is willing to work closely with the members of the Group of 77 to optimize the input of development resources, give full play to the maximum effectiveness of public goods such as the "the Belt and Road" initiative, and solve development problems. We welcome all parties to attend the third "the Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum to be held in Beijing in October this year to discuss cooperation plans and seek common development.

Li Xi stated that both China and other developing countries have gone through the arduous process of striving for national independence and liberation, and both have a strong desire to enable their people to live a better life. They have always breathed in the same breath, shared a common destiny, supported each other, and developed together, and have long become a community of shared destiny. As long as we follow the trend of the times, strengthen unity, friendship, cooperation, and support each other in pursuing modernization paths that are in line with our own national conditions and characteristics, we will definitely be able to better safeguard the common interests of developing countries, enhance their voice in the global governance system, achieve common development and prosperity, and inject more stability and positive energy into the cause of global peace and development.
