Li Qiang Meets with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar
On the morning of September 17th, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar, who was attending the 20th China ASEAN Expo in Nanning, Guangxi.
Li Qiang stated that China and Malaysia are good neighbors who stand by and help each other, and good partners for common development.Next year, China and Malaysia will celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. China is willing to take this as an opportunity, guided by the important consensus of the leaders of the two countries, to inherit and deepen intergenerational friendship, enhance political mutual trust, coordinate and plan the next stage of bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields, continuously achieve more practical results, better benefit the people of both countries, and make greater contributions to regional stability and prosperity.
Li Qiang pointed out that China is willing to strengthen the docking of development strategies with Malaysia, continue to jointly build the "the Belt and Road" with high quality, jointly implement the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, implement the flagship projects of China Malaysia cooperation such as the "two countries, two parks" and the East Coast Railway, create new growth points of cooperation such as new energy vehicles and digital economy, further strengthen exchanges in education, scientific research, cultural tourism, local and other fields, and promote the continuous expansion and quality improvement of bilateral cooperation. China is willing to work closely with Malaysia to maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea, maintain a regional cooperation framework centered on ASEAN, advance the negotiation of the 3.0 version of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area, and assist in the process of regional economic integration.
The Malaysian side supports China's accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement.
