Lavrov: The United States asks European countries to "clear their warehouses" to aid Ukraine in purchasing American made equipment
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on the 15th that the US government, under the guise of aid, has asked European allies to provide Ukraine with a large number of weapons so that US arms dealers can fill the weapons gap in the aforementioned countries.
According to the Russian news agency Sputnik, Lavrov said in an event attended by more than 30 diplomats that European countries are shipping weapons and equipment manufactured by the former Soviet Union, Russia, and the West to Ukraine and instead purchasing weapons from American companies to fill the gap.
Since the escalation of the Ukrainian crisis in February last year, the United States and its allies have provided Ukraine with a large amount of military assistance, including heavy equipment such as main battle tanks, armored vehicles, rockets, and artillery.
Earlier this month, USA Today reported that the US has provided approximately $76 billion in military, humanitarian, and financial aid to Ukraine.
According to statistics from the Kiel Institute of World Economics in Germany, the total amount of aid from European countries to Ukraine has far exceeded that of the United States, reaching 167 billion US dollars.
