"Kishida is willing to meet with Kim Jong un unconditionally"
According to Agence France Presse on September 15th, a senior Japanese government official stated on the 15th that Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is willing to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong un "without any preconditions".
Kishida had previously stated that he was prepared to hold talks with Kim Jong un, but the Japanese invitation was reissued after Kim Jong un went to Russia this week to meet with Russian President Putin.
According to reports, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hiroyoshi Matsuno stated at a regular press conference, "We hope to hold high-level consultations under the direct command of the Prime Minister to achieve the summit as soon as possible."

Matsuno said that Kishida has always expressed his determination to face North Korean leader Kim Jong un directly at any time without any preconditions.
Both Russia and North Korea, long-term allies, are currently facing numerous sanctions imposed globally - Moscow is due to the Ukraine conflict, and Pyongyang is due to its nuclear missile program.
