On September 14th, China University of Petroleum issued an obituary stating that Comrade Zhang Jiajia from the School of Earth Sciences at China University of Petroleum passed away in Beijing at 19:41 on September 13th at the age of 33 due to ineffective medical treatment.
According to public data, Zhang Jiajia, male, Han nationality, was born in Dezhou, Shandong Province in January 1990 and joined the CPC in May 2012.
He graduated with a PhD in Geological Resources and Geological Engineering from China University of Petroleum in September 2019 and was awarded the Li Siguang Outstanding Graduate Award; I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Geological Resources and Geological Engineering Mobile Station of China University of Petroleum from December 2019 to January 2022. In January 2022, I was selected as a top young talent at China University of Petroleum and stayed on as a teacher; Promoted to associate professor in July 2023.
According to the website of the School of Earth Sciences at China University of Petroleum, Zhang Jiajia is mainly engaged in teaching and scientific research related to oil and gas field development geology, especially with rich research experience in the heterogeneity mechanism and fine characterization and modeling technology of deep-water oil and gas reservoirs. His research results have been published in high-level academic journals such as GSA Bulletin, Tectonics, AAPG Bulletin, Marine and Petroleum Geology, and Petroleum and Natural Gas Geology at home and abroad. He has undertaken one National Natural Science Youth Fund project, one General Project of China Postdoctoral Science Fund, and two projects funded by the university's research start-up fund, and has been granted one national invention patent.
