"The current world situation is showing a trend of diversification, complexity, and instability, and the United States' military hegemony remains the main source of turmoil and unrest in the world today." Dennis Muneney, Executive Director of the Central Africa Center at the Kenya Africa Policy Research Institute, recently stated in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that there are voices from around the world opposing US military hegemony, and the US hegemonic behavior is not popular.
Muneneh said that history has repeatedly proven that hegemonic behavior is a direct cause of instability between civilizations, countries, and societies. Military hegemony is the core pillar for the United States to seek a unipolar world, maintain hegemonic order, and consolidate its hegemonic actions.
Muneney said that the United States currently has about 750 military bases in 80 countries and regions overseas, which provide support for the United States to launch wars or military actions in at least 25 countries. "The US military hegemony has brought unprecedented harm and crisis to today's society, triggered conflicts and wars, resulting in hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians' casualties, trampled on the sovereignty of other countries, and undermined world peace."
He pointed out that from the end of World War II to 2001, there were about 248 armed conflicts in 153 regions around the world, of which about 201 were initiated by the United States, accounting for about 81%. "The military alliance led by Western countries in the United States launched large-scale military strikes against sovereign countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya, claiming justice but actually seeking personal gain."
Muneneh used the Libyan war as an example to say that the real purpose of Western countries in the United States is to seize resources such as oil and gold. To this day, Libya is still trapped in a violent vortex of various groups and external interference, with its people losing their homes and struggling to make a living, while the United States turns a blind eye to the disasters it has caused.
Muneneh called on developing countries to unite and oppose all forms of threats, pressure, and sanctions, as well as the hegemonic actions of the United States.
