Hangzhou Asian Games | Torchbearer Zhang Lizhen: This honor belongs to all island police relay | Torch | Honor
Hangzhou, September 13th (Xinhua) - According to legend, when the torch in hand is lit, the second torchbearer at the Zhoushan Station of the Hangzhou Asian Games torch relay raises his right hand, stands at attention and salutes, with a resolute gaze. He is Zhang Lizhen, the director of the Luojia'ao Police Station on Qushan Island in Daishan County, Zhoushan City, which has been rooted in remote islands for 14 years.
As the only torchbearer in the Zhoushan public security system, Zhang Lizhen feels extraordinary significance. "The honor of being the torchbearer of the Asian Games does not represent him personally, but represents all the police officers of the island public security who guard the lights of the world." Zhang Lizhen said that in the future, he will continue to sincerely do practical things and solve difficulties for the people of the island.

Luojia'ao Police Station is the "old advanced" of the public security system in Zhejiang Province, and also the first batch of "Fengqiao style public security police stations" in the country. The station has pioneered 34 types of mass work methods, and has also built police work platforms such as "Hongfan 110", "Police Theme Park", "Rong · Zhijia", and "Rong Governance Center".
It takes more than an hour by car from the city center of Zhoushan to this island police station, plus more than 50 minutes by boat, but the fatigue of the boat cannot stop this Shandong man's deep affection for the Luojia'ao police station.

In 2002, when Zhang Lizhen was a newly recruited soldier from a company, his first destination was here. The first lesson that Zhang Lizhen, who is in his early twenties, learned here is how to deal with the masses. Recalling his early work experience, he bluntly stated that it was not smooth. Because the people didn't know him at first, and they couldn't understand the local dialect, they always felt like they were separated when interacting with the people.
In order to get along well with the people, Zhang Lizhen spent two months visiting nearly a thousand households and using his footsteps to draw a map on the small island, which also entered the hearts of the local people. Nowadays, he speaks the authentic Zhoushan dialect, even the elderly fishermen who were born and raised here give a thumbs up.

In the following 20 years, he successively entered the Luojia'ao Police Station three times, and spent a total of 14 years there. His identity went from being a new soldier to a cadre, and now to being the director of the station. And during his 14 years of guarding remote islands, his biggest feeling was to do mass work and exchange sincerity for public opinion.
A small matter has left a deep impression on Zhang Lizhen to this day. Once during a visit, he learned that an elderly person in the local area often experienced seawater backflow due to a low wall during typhoons. At that time, he was just an ordinary community police officer, running several departments in a row to help build up the walls of the elderly's house. For such a small matter, the old man walked along the mountain road with six dirt eggs and crutches for nearly three hours to thank the police station in person.

After completing the glorious mission of the torch relay, Zhang Lizhen quickly set off to return to Qushan Island. "Bring the torch back, share the honor with colleagues and people on the island, and continue to contribute to the safe escort of the Asian Games," said Zhang Lizhen.
