Hangzhou Asian Games | Landscape Design with a Focus on "Low Carbon Recycling" - Visiting Jinhua Sports Center
Hangzhou, September 10th (Xinhua) - In various sports events, the landscape and temporary facilities of sports venues can help various groups of people participating in the competition smoothly reach the corresponding functional space, reflect the image of the competition, and create a good atmosphere for the competition. As a sub venue of the Hangzhou Asian Games, Jinhua Sports Center adheres to the concept of "green" competition in its landscape design and layout. Based on various ecological technologies, it strives to promote low-carbon and environmental protection through recycling.
Entering the Jinhua Sports Center Gymnasium, the background colors of "water blue" and "rainbow purple" are refreshing. According to the requirements of the competition, FOP area, landscape control area, and multiple streamlined landscape areas such as athletes, spectators, technical officials, and media have been set up here. The reasonable allocation of color schemes makes the overall color tone of the venue rich in changes while maintaining harmony and unity.

"We have extensively used fabric materials in the selection of atmosphere and landscape decoration materials in accordance with the requirements of the Asian Organizing Committee for green and sustainable competition." Li Xuyun, the director of venue landscape signage, introduced that the hanging flags and lamp post flags used to create the atmosphere of the competition are made of warp knitted glossy silk fabric; For outdoor landscapes with a large area, considering wind resistance, warp knitted mesh fabric is chosen; The large-scale indoor landscape coverage needs to ensure the color reproduction of video broadcasting, and high-density elastic fabric should be selected; Table skirts and some temporary facility decorations need to ensure color consistency and use materials such as satin.
Compared to the traditional landscape layout that heavily uses spray painted fabrics, these finished fabrics have almost no ink smell and do not require the use of quick drying glue during installation. Some of the fabrics can be recycled for secondary processing after the competition, making them reusable as handbags, backpacks, and other materials.

According to the needs of the competition, many temporary shelters need to be set up outside the venue as storage areas for competition equipment and audience rest areas. Therefore, Jinhua Sports Center has adopted new materials that balance safety, firmness, and green environmental protection in the construction of the tent.
"This temporary tent is an aluminum prefabricated building," said Ye Yunting, the venue's fixed facilities manager. These materials and structures have high integrity and safety. The overall structure has undergone wind and damage testing by professional institutions, and has the characteristics of being movable and reusable. It can be quickly disassembled after use, and the frame and tarpaulin can be stored for recycling.
To meet the needs of the competition while also taking into account the functional transformation after the competition, Jinhua integrates the green concept into the entire life cycle of the construction, management, and operation of Asian Games venues. By promoting green construction, energy-saving and environmental protection technologies, and recyclable and renewable materials, Jinhua contributes to the sustainable development of the city.
