Estimated at $120 million, Picasso's masterpiece will be auctioned off
Sotheby's auction house announced on the 13th that it will auction the painting "The Woman Wearing a Watch" by the late Spanish painter Pablo Picasso in November in New York, USA.
This painting was created in 1932. According to Julian Dawes, the head of Impressionism and Modern Art at an auction house, quoted by Agence France Presse, that year was a "miracle year" in Picasso's artistic career, in which he created a large number of works and reached a new level of artistic proficiency.
The estimated transaction price of "Women Wearing Watches" is expected to reach at least 120 million US dollars.
Dawes said that this painting is "a masterpiece from any perspective" and "full of joy and passion.".
"The Woman Wearing a Watch" is one of the collections of the late American collector Emily Fischer Lando. She served on the board of directors of the Whitney Museum of American Art for a long time and passed away in March at the age of 102. The auction will last for two days and will sell approximately 120 of her collections, with an estimated total auction price of up to $400 million.
