The Chinese Embassy in Vietnam and relevant Vietnamese departments held a joint meeting on the prevention of safety risks for Chinese tourists
To ensure the safety and security of Chinese tourists during the peak tourist season in Vietnam during the Mid Autumn Festival and National Day golden week, on September 20th, the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam held a joint meeting with relevant Vietnamese authorities on risk prevention for Chinese tourists. Zhu Yu, Director of the Overseas Chinese Office of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, Fan Huangsong, Deputy Director of the Consular Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Nguyen Chengding, Deputy Director of the Port Bureau of the Border Defense Force Command of the Ministry of National Defense, Nguyen Ping Ping, Deputy Director of the Transport Department of the Ministry of Transport, and leaders from the Exit Entry Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, the Public Security Bureau of the Neipai Airport Port, the National Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Northeast Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended.
Zhu Yu stated that Vietnam has the same system, similar culture, and customs as China, with abundant tourism resources and strong attraction to Chinese tourists. It is an important destination for Chinese tourists to travel abroad. Since China implemented the "Class B and Class B management" for COVID-19 infection, the number of Chinese tourists to Vietnam has continued to increase, and security risk incidents involving Chinese tourists have increased. Zhu Yu summarized the main safety risks and specific cases faced by Chinese tourists traveling in Vietnam, and suggested that the Vietnamese side pay attention to strengthening tourism market supervision, strengthening risk and hidden danger investigation, improving emergency rescue plans, and taking targeted preventive measures. He expressed the hope to continue to make good use of the hotline contact mechanism of the Joint Conference on Safety Risk Prevention for Chinese Tourists, timely communicate and properly handle safety incidents involving Chinese tourists, and effectively safeguard the safety and legitimate rights and interests of Chinese tourists in Vietnam. Zhu Yu also conducted external publicity on my recent policy of facilitating the exchange of Chinese and foreign personnel.
The heads of relevant departments in Vietnam introduced the overall situation of receiving Chinese tourists in their respective areas of competence, expressed their concern for China, and will actively take effective measures to create a safer and more convenient tourism environment for Chinese tourists, provide better tourism services, and strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Embassy in Vietnam to jointly maintain the safety of Chinese tourists in Vietnam.
