Recently, Hunan Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture People's Hospital welcomed a special 4-year-old follow-up patient. In May this year, he accidentally jumped off the 26th floor. With the help of medical staff, he miraculously survived. Now, he can stand up again, unlike when he first entered the hospital, where he had severe traumatic reactions and could happily play games, watch videos, and more.
"Jumping down from the 26th floor and still surviving is really a miracle," said Qu Xixiang, the attending doctor of the boy. He speculated that it may be because the 4-year-old child's body was relatively light, and when he fell, he was blocked by a tree downstairs, which had a certain buffering effect, which allowed the boy to miraculously survive.

On the afternoon of May 26th, a 4-year-old boy in Jishou, Hunan fell from his 26th floor home to the ground. According to a video circulating online, there is an ambulance parked next to a flower bed, where a child wearing a red shirt is lying. Several people have lifted the child onto a stretcher, and there are many onlookers nearby.

According to Jimu News, the incident occurred in a small community near the West First Ring Road in Jishou City, Xiangxi Prefecture, Hunan Province. Mr. Shi, who participated in the rescue, introduced to the reporter that he is a doctor at Xiangxi People's Hospital and lives in the same community as the boy who fell from a building. At around 5 pm on the 26th, he and his family heard a loud noise. "At that time, my mother-in-law happened to pass by the flower bed in front of the door. Looking back, a child fell down from upstairs."
Mr. Shi said that when he went out, he saw a boy who had an accident. His left upper limb was broken and there were multiple injuries on his body, and he was already in a state of shock. "The boy was holding a blue decorative umbrella under his body, and there were still blood stains on an orange tree next to him, and there were also signs of branches breaking."
Mr. Shi said that after the ambulance arrived at the scene, the group lifted the boy onto a stretcher and sent him to the hospital for treatment. However, at that time, the family could not be contacted, and the hospital rescued the boy through a green channel. Afterwards, they learned that the boy was 4 years old and fell from the balcony of his 26th floor home that day.
The boy miraculously survived after being treated
On September 15th, Qu Xixiang, the attending doctor of the boy at Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture People's Hospital, told the Xiaoxiang Morning Post reporter that the boy miraculously survived after treatment and came to the hospital for a follow-up visit a few days ago.
Qu Xixiang recalled that one day at the end of May this year, 120 received a report stating that a boy had fallen from a high-rise building in the community. Upon arriving at the scene, a 4-year-old boy was found jumping off the 26th floor with an umbrella. "The boy's situation was very serious at the time, and our hospital's relevant departments immediately prepared because the mortality rate from falling from the 5th floor was very high, and there was little hope of survival from falling from the 10th floor."

After the boy was sent to the hospital, upon examination, it was found that his left limb was completely broken and his lower thigh was fractured. "After one or two weeks of hospitalization, the boy was able to communicate with others smoothly, but he had traumatic reactions and was prone to crying. Less than a month after admission, the boy was discharged smoothly." Qu Xixiang said, "Now it seems that the boy's survival is a miracle.".
"We have repeatedly simulated and found it difficult to explain," said Qu Xixiang, who speculated that it may be due to the 4-year-old child's relatively light body, coupled with being blocked by trees downstairs when falling, which has a certain buffering effect. "When I was cleaning his wound, I found leaves inside his limbs. It should have been blocked by the tree when he fell, which took on some of his weight."
On September 7th, the boy came to the hospital for a follow-up visit. "Now his mood is much better, he can play games and watch videos normally. He can also walk, but his posture is not very good and he still needs rehabilitation treatment. In the future, he can walk like a normal child," said Qu Xixiang.
Qu Xixiang reminds that in recent years, there have been multiple cases of children blindly imitating dangerous situations and encountering danger. Parents should accompany and take good care of their children. When encountering dangerous situations in daily life or watching movies and animations, parents should promptly remind and educate children not to imitate to avoid danger.
