The first "crowdfunding research" project on Pudong's flagship platform will focus on the research and development of recycled composite functional fiber materials.

Regenerated composite functional fiber materials are composite fabrics that integrate multiple functions such as UV resistance, instant cooling, moisture absorption and quick drying, and antibacterial properties, and have broad market prospects. At present, there are fiber products with single function in both domestic and international markets, but fabrics that combine multiple functions are still a common problem in the textile industry.

The reason lies in the fact that the development of this material involves a long time, high technical difficulties, and covers multiple processes in the industrial chain, such as masterbatch granulation, fiber drawing, spinning and weaving, and finished clothing products. It involves multiple upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain, and relying solely on the capabilities of a single enterprise cannot carry out the entire process of research and production.

There is a huge demand in the market, and it is difficult for a single enterprise to complete. Technology requires collaborative research and development between upstream and downstream enterprises. Through long-term research, the Yangtze River Delta National Innovation Center has keenly discovered the common needs of the material industry for recycled composite functional fiber materials. Through multiple enterprise exchanges, expert discussions, and demonstrations, the professional team of the National Innovation Center has reorganized and refined the technical difficulties.
