Coming from Yangshan Port across the sea! Shengsi Island is about to usher in an "underwater water pipeline"
Shengsi Island is adjacent to Shanghai and is a national scenic area that integrates ocean culture and island folk customs. The island has nearly 70000 residents and receives over 7 million tourists annually. However, for many years, the drinking water on the island has come from desalination projects and limited reservoirs, and the residents of the island have always faced a situation of "water scarcity". Recently, the mainland water diversion project in Shengsi County made breakthrough progress and began laying an underwater water transmission pipeline from Yangshan Port. In the future, Shengsi will not only welcome Shanghai tourists who cross the sea, but also receive a daily water supply of tens of thousands of tons.
Recently, the project began laying submarine pipelines starting from the thin mouth of Xiaoyangshan in the west and ending at Sijiao in the east. The operating area spans the Jinshan waterway, Yangshan customary route, and passenger ship route, with a total length of 28.5 kilometers.
The reporter learned that in order to ensure the safe construction of this major livelihood project, the Maritime Safety Bureau of Yangshan Port has implemented scientific policies, taken multiple measures, and made every effort to ensure it.
On the one hand, scientifically formulate navigation safety assurance plans, track the positions of pipeline laying ships and buried trough ships in real time, dynamically set up a 7-stage progressive traffic organization model, organize traffic for ships on customary routes and Jinshan Channel, and optimize passenger ship routes. On the other hand, we should strengthen our awareness of the purpose of serving ports and waterways to ensure people's livelihoods, classify and manage potential safety risks during operations, provide advance information broadcasting and traffic organization for transit vessels, use English broadcasting for external vessels, actively connect fishing vessels with fisheries management departments, and prevent unrelated vessels from entering safe operating waters.
