"I have never had a girlfriend, and I haven't been able to pass the postgraduate entrance examination for three consecutive years. Recently, I have been under a lot of pressure to review and take the exam. I saw that girl on the bus who was a bit introverted and wearing a short skirt. She did this in pursuit of excitement."

On the evening of August 5th, after finishing his studies at the Leshan Library, Liao took a bus home from the Municipal Cultural Center Station. When the bus arrived at Mapu'er Station, the victim got on and sat in the last row by the window, only 2 seats away from Liao.

Starting from the bus to the vicinity of Daozuo Temple, Liao moved to sit next to the victim, intentionally placing his arm against her, and then placing it on her lap. Seeing that the victim did not resist, Liao reached into her skirt and touched her private parts with his fingers, the entire process lasting about 10 minutes. After the vehicle arrived at the station, Liao and the victim got off successively.

What is the crime of child molestation?

Article 237 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China: "Whoever forcibly molests others or insults women by violence, coercion or other means shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years or criminal detention. Whoever commits the crime mentioned in the preceding paragraph in public or in public places, or in other heinous circumstances, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than five years. Whoever molests children shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years; whoever falls under any of the following circumstances shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than five years:

Molesting multiple or multiple children;

Those who gather together to molest children, or molest children in public places, with heinous circumstances;

Causing harm to children or other serious consequences;

"Those who use obscene means or have other heinous circumstances."

How to define the age of "children" in the crime of child molestation?

Generally, under the age of fourteen is the standard for identifying a child in criminal law. As long as indecent behavior is committed against children under the age of fourteen, regardless of whether the child agrees or resists, it constitutes the crime of child molestation.

Teach children to say no to sexual assault!

Actively communicate and exchange ideas. Establishing a good parent-child relationship with children, not avoiding their sexual curiosity and issues, allowing children to easily and naturally tell their parents, thus better guiding and educating their children.

Learn to distinguish sexual assault behavior. Guide children to have a correct understanding of their bodies, be wary of "acquaintances committing crimes", and inform them that they should not be easily touched by others in their private areas to protect their own bodies.
