[Chinese Farmers Harvest Festival] Drought irrigation, flood discharge, and large-scale grain storage rely on AI farms | Reporter | Flood discharge and large-scale country
On the eve of the 2023 Chinese Farmers Harvest Festival, the reporter went to Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, which is a major grain producing area and an important high-quality commodity grain base in China, to explore the technological genes of the "big granary" in the Beidahuang region. In the vast "Ten Thousand Acres of Land" rice field of Qixing Farm Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Beidahuang Group's Jiansanjiang Branch, the golden and high-quality variety Longken 2021 has plump grains and pleasant aroma, presenting a magnificent harvest in sight.
With the support of technology, Chen Guiyou, a member of the Party Committee of Beidahuang Group Seven Star Farm Co., Ltd. and Deputy General Manager of Beidahuang Agriculture Seven Star Branch, is confident that this year's rice production will reach a new high. It is expected that the rice yield per mu will be around 1300 kilograms this year. "Grasping new rice for market, the price is definitely not a problem.". In order to do a good job in autumn grain harvesting, 5000 sets of local machinery are ready to be deployed, and a rice harvest "grand battle" is taking place in the Sanjiang Plain. Chen Guiyou told reporters that the confidence of Qixing Farm in stabilizing production and increasing income comes from the promotion and application of 22 new agricultural technologies and measures. Agricultural digitization covers various production processes such as farming, planting, management, and harvesting on the farm.
Chen Guiyou introduced that Qixing Farm has a total of 1.26 million acres of arable land, including 1.04 million acres of paddy fields. The farm has established 200 monitoring points, 20 small meteorological stations, and 20 groundwater level monitoring devices, which can extract real-time data such as water temperature, mud temperature, carbon dioxide, air temperature and humidity required for the entire rice production process, and collect them into a database to form the "agricultural intelligence brain" that guides farming. In addition, modern technologies such as Beidou Navigation, 5G, Internet of Things, big data, and environmental perception have been deeply integrated with traditional agricultural machinery technology, achieving a transition from precision and intelligence to unmanned agricultural production.
Seeds are the "chips" of agriculture, and technology has given wings to agriculture. Yang Kun, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Agricultural Technology Promotion Center of the Seven Star Branch of Beidahuang Agriculture Co., Ltd., introduced that in recent years, Beidahuang has continuously made new breakthroughs in agricultural technology by building the Sanjiang National Agricultural Science and Technology Park, with a contribution rate of 79.6% to agricultural scientific and technological progress. The park focuses on experimental research in the introduction of good varieties, supporting good methods, and protection of good fields. More than 280 scientific research and demonstration projects have been completed to high standards, promoting the average yield of rice per mu in cold regions to increase from 620 kilograms to 638 kilograms, and providing scientific and technological support for agricultural power.
At Qixing Farm, the reporter noticed that 5G technology is widely used in the rice production process. For rice cultivation, China Telecom provides digital services through rice+5G+AI products. From communication service providers to digital platform operators, China Telecom actively participates in the construction of agricultural communication infrastructure and digital agriculture platforms, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of digital agriculture.
Chinese people have 1 out of every 9 bowls of rice from Heilongjiang. In this golden autumn, the hardworking people of Beida, with the responsibility and mission of guarding the "ballast stone" of food security, rely on technological support to celebrate the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival with "20 consecutive harvests".
