China, Russia, and Mongolia Hold High Representative Meeting on Security Affairs Economy | Russia | Security
On September 19, 2023 local time, China, Russia, and Mongolia held a meeting of high-level representatives on security affairs in Moscow. Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, and Enkhbayar, Secretary General of the Mongolian National Security Council, attended.
Wang Yi said that Northeast Asia is one of the most dynamic regions in the world today, and also one of the regions with concentrated global security hotspots. It holds important development opportunities and faces severe challenges. As important countries in the region, China, Russia, and Mongolia are friendly neighbors and partners who are closely related and supportive. Strengthening trilateral cooperation in the new situation has inherent geographical advantages and profound traditional accumulation, which is in line with the common interests of the three countries and also helps to consolidate regional development consensus. China is willing to work together with Russia and Mongolia, based in Northeast Asia and with a global perspective, to seek effective ways to deepen cooperation, promote regional prosperity and stability, and share the fruits of regional development.
Wang Yi stated that during the Samarkand Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization last year, the heads of state of China, Russia, and Mongolia successfully met and reached important consensus, guiding the direction of future cooperation among the three sides. We will continue to play the leading role of the head of state's diplomatic strategy, deepen political mutual trust, fully leverage complementary advantages, accelerate the construction of the China Russia Mongolia Economic Corridor, and bring more benefits to the people of the three countries.
Patrushchev stated that the three countries share similar positions on major international and regional issues, and will jointly resist external interference, prevent color revolutions, adhere to multilateralism, and establish a just and reasonable international order. Enkhbayar stated that developing good neighborly and friendly cooperation with China and Russia is the primary direction of Mongolia's diplomacy. Mongolia opposes a unipolar pattern and ideological demarcation, and is willing to continue consolidating political mutual trust with China and Russia, making trilateral cooperation a model of regional cooperation.
The three parties highly evaluate the achievements of cooperation so far and agree to further strengthen cooperation to jointly maintain regional security and stability.
The three parties will jointly implement the important consensus of the three heads of state, take the opportunity of the third "the Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum, strengthen the docking of the "the Belt and Road" initiative with the Eurasian Economic Union and the "Prairie Road" initiative, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and accelerate common development.
The three sides believe that this meeting has added new connotations to the strategic cooperation of the three countries and will explore the mechanism arrangement of the meeting.
