Causing economic losses of over 271 million yuan to state-owned companies! Zhang Shihe is on trial
On September 15th, the Intermediate People's Court of Tongren City, Guizhou Province publicly held a first instance hearing on the case of Zhang Shihe, former deputy director of the Population, Resources and Environment Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Political Consultative Conference, accepting bribes and abusing power by personnel of state-owned companies.
The People's Procuratorate of Tongren City, Guizhou Province accuses that from 2005 to 2021, the defendant Zhang Shihe used his position as a member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the Guizhou Coal Management Bureau to provide assistance to relevant individuals in matters such as material procurement, engineering contracting, and job adjustment, illegally accepting property from others, totaling more than RMB 6.29 million. From 2015 to 2018, Zhang Shihe, as the Secretary and Chairman of the Party Committee of state-owned companies, abused his power, causing economic losses of more than 271 million yuan for state-owned companies and particularly significant losses to national interests. The procuratorial organs have requested that Zhang Shihe be held criminally responsible for the crimes of bribery and abuse of power by personnel of state-owned companies.

During the trial, the procuratorial organs presented relevant evidence, and the defendant Zhang Shihe and his defense counsel cross examined. Both the prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions under the auspices of the court. Zhang Shihe made a final statement and pleaded guilty and repentant in court. At the end of the trial, the court announced an adjournment and announced the verdict at a later date.
