Building a Network Security "Firewall" Together, People's Perspective: Enhancing Awareness
From September 11th to 17th, the 2023 National Cybersecurity Awareness Week will be held nationwide. Holding a National Cybersecurity Awareness Week and enhancing public awareness and skills in cybersecurity is an important part of national cybersecurity work.
In recent years, China has continuously accelerated the top-level design in the field of network security, continuously improved the network security and policy system, and formulated and introduced a series of laws and regulations such as the Network Security Law, Data Security Law, and Personal Information Protection Law, providing practical guarantees for safeguarding national network security and the vital interests of the people. This year's Cybersecurity Promotion Week will also focus on key information infrastructure protection, personal information protection, data security governance, telecommunications network fraud, and youth network protection issues that are highly concerned by the people, highlighting the purpose of serving the people and allowing the general public to have a sense of gain, happiness, and security in the cyberspace.
According to data, as of June 2023, the number of internet users in China reached 1.079 billion. At present, the Internet affects people's daily life more widely and deeply, and network security is more closely related to everyone. Since 2014, the National Cybersecurity Awareness Week has deeply carried out various important activities such as network security entering communities, rural areas, enterprises, government agencies, campuses, families, and military camps, making the concept of network security more deeply rooted in people's hearts.
Without cybersecurity, there would be no national security and no stable economic and social operation. A secure and reliable network environment is an important prerequisite for safeguarding national security and building a better life. Whether it is the government, enterprises, social organizations, or the vast number of netizens, they cannot do without the strong guarantee of network security. Therefore, everyone has a responsibility to be a disseminator of positive energy and a maintainer of network security. They should further enhance their awareness and improve their skills, and work together to build a "firewall" for network security.
Maintaining cybersecurity is a common responsibility of the whole society. The improvement of the awareness and ability of cybersecurity in the whole society will provide a more solid guarantee for safeguarding national cyberspace sovereignty, security, and development interests.
