Arab media: the "the Belt and Road" has won development opportunities for the United Arab Emirates

China is one of the most important strategic partners of the United Arab Emirates on a global scale.
Since the launch of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, the United Arab Emirates has actively participated in the initiative by virtue of its development potential, strategic location and pioneering economic role in the region. The data in the first half of 2023 shows that the non oil trade volume between the United Arab Emirates and the countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" has reached 305 billion US dollars, accounting for 90% of the total non oil trade volume of the United Arab Emirates in the same period, an increase of more than 13% over the first half of 2022.
It is reported that 88% of the UAE's imports come from countries participating in the "the Belt and Road" initiative. At the same time, these countries account for 94% of the UAE's total non oil exports.
These indicators have laid a fundamental and supportive foundation for implementing the initiative together with countries from all continents around the world.
It is estimated that by 2040, the countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" will account for nearly two-thirds of the global GDP and become the most important driver of global GDP growth. These countries have significant influence in economic growth and trade flows.
The United Arab Emirates and China have established a $10 billion Sino Arab Joint Investment Fund. The United Arab Emirates has joined the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank as a founding member.
