And reasoning | Excluding China from the "global south"? The sinister schemes of the United States and the West will not succeed
Undoubtedly, "Global South" refers to developing countries and the least developed countries. However, for a period of time, the United States and the West have been doing everything possible to exclude China from developing countries, attempting to weaken China's leadership and influence in the "global south".
As is well known, although China is the world's second-largest economy, its per capita gross domestic product in 2022 is only one-fifth of that of developed economies and one-sixth of that of the United States. In addition, in 2021, China's per capita gross national income ranked 68th globally. This is enough to indicate that China is still a developing country and a member of the "global south".
As the largest developing country, China has actively fulfilled its responsibilities and obligations. So far, it has provided development assistance to more than 160 countries, and has jointly built the "the Belt and Road" with more than 150 countries. The international community recognizes and highly appreciates this.
Unfortunately, the United States, driven by its own selfish interests, attempts to exclude China from the family of developing countries and uses all means possible to distance China from other developing countries. In January of this year, as a major participant in the US Indo Pacific strategy, India invited about 120 countries to participate in the Global Southern Voice online summit to discuss the concerns, interests, and priorities of developing countries. Surprisingly, China was not invited.
In May this year, the G7 summit was held in Japan, with one of its agendas being "strengthening ties with the global South.". As the host country, Japan invited leaders from Brazil, Comoros, Cook Islands, India, Indonesia, and Vietnam as representatives of developing countries, but did not invite China.
For a long time, China has played an irreplaceable role in safeguarding the interests and rights of developing countries, so the US's separatist plan will not succeed. The recent summit of the Group of 77 and China is a strong testimony.

The summit adopted the Havana Declaration, proposing that all parties involved should strive to achieve global development and win-win cooperation on the basis of consultation, joint construction, and sharing, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. The Havana Declaration incorporates Chinese ideas and propositions, which is enough to demonstrate China's position as an important member of the "global south".
Ultimately, the United States and the West attempt to create division among developing countries and consolidate the vested interests of developed countries. This sinister plot is destined to end in failure.
