Medical technology-related projects from Canada, Belarus, Uzbekistan and other countries signed implementation agreements at the meeting. Universities, medical schools, hospitals and the Lingang New Area Medical Device Innovation Center signed cooperation and construction agreements at the meeting focusing on "innovation transformation, education and training, and international exchange."

The center will accelerate medical technological innovation and transformation of results, link up the innovative resources of medical institutions, research institutes, and industrial institutions, promote the transformation of innovative scientific and technological achievements and the introduction of top talents, gather upstream key technologies, promote medical and engineering cooperation, and accelerate the transformation of medical technological achievements; create an advanced medical technology and innovative equipment training base, with the support of relevant national ministries and commissions, in conjunction with major hospitals and major innovative medical device companies, carry out advanced medical technology training, and build an innovative medical device training base; promote international cooperation in medical devices, with Lingang as the core base, build multiple overseas branch centers, and create a globally linked medical device innovation center in the Lingang New Area. The reporter learned that many well-known scholars have joined the Innovation Center - Professor Cheng Yunzhang of Shanghai University of Technology was hired as the director of the Innovation Center, managers of well-known domestic tertiary hospitals, clinical experts, and overseas experts such as university presidents and deans of medical schools from 13 countries including Russia, Canada, and Thailand were hired as members of the expert committee.
The "2024MDinno Shanghai High-end Medical Device Innovation Competition" hosted by the Lingang New Area Medical Device Innovation Center was launched simultaneously.
