The contribution rate of tourism industry in the Yangtze River Delta to the whole country has "increased rather than decreased", facing the impact of COVID-19
In the face of the unprecedented impact of the COVID-19, the contribution rate of the tourism industry in the Yangtze River Delta to the country has "increased rather than decreased": from 2019 to 2022, the proportion of domestic tourists in the Yangtze River Delta has increased from 44.2% to 62.3%, and the proportion of domestic tourism revenue in the country has increased from 63.5% to 70.2%.
At the joint meeting of the Three Provinces and One City Tourism Association in the Yangtze River Delta held in Shanghai today, Fang Shizhong, Director of the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, stated that these data from one side demonstrate the strong resilience and significant results of the high-quality development of the integration of culture and tourism in the Yangtze River Delta.
In order to deeply implement the national strategy of integrating the Yangtze River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta Cultural and Tourism Alliance, led by the cultural and tourism departments of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui, was established in 2019. Over the past five years, this alliance has signed multiple strategic agreements, promoting the formation of a multi-level cooperation system including industry associations and market entities, and has cumulatively implemented more than 100 cooperation matters. In the past three years, facing the interweaving impact of century long changes and the century long pandemic, the Yangtze River Delta Cultural and Tourism Alliance has responded to the uncertainty of the external environment with its own efforts and determination. It is brave to take on responsibilities, good at unity and mutual assistance, and its contribution rate to the national tourism industry has further increased.
