Compared to previous years, the number of booths for new energy vehicles and environmentally friendly materials at this year's Industrial Expo has greatly increased, and green products have become a new trend in the exhibition.

Fengyuan Group, the parent company of Fengyuan Biotechnology, was originally a chemical enterprise mainly producing citric acid, with its main customers coming from the carbonated beverage industry. In recent years, through continuous innovation in fermentation technology, Fengyuan Group has become the first company in China to master the full industry chain technology of polylactic acid. It has successfully achieved high-value reuse of crop straw such as corn and potatoes, producing new materials such as polylactic acid, which can be used as disposable tableware, biomass leather, textile fabrics, etc., effectively solving the pollution pain points caused by straw burning.

Biobased new materials are not only more environmentally friendly and biodegradable, but also have relatively low carbon emissions during the production process. "Currently, producing one ton of polylactic acid generates 0.31 tons of carbon emissions, while producing one ton of plastic PP material generates 3 tons of carbon emissions. The carbon footprint of polylactic acid is only about one tenth of that of traditional petroleum based materials." Zhou Ning, Deputy Director of the Biomarketing Department of Anhui Fengyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd., introduced that the 36 million sets of disposable tableware used at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics are environmentally friendly tableware provided by Fengyuan Biotechnology, which is made from the reuse of crop straw.

In addition to producing green products, more and more enterprises are also using technological means to reduce carbon emissions. On the Jieka Robot booth, 16 dancing robotic arms form a square array, with a large display screen standing in front. The debugging staff told reporters that the OTA smart service platform of the card saving robot displayed on this screen can display the real-time power consumption of the robot for exhibitors, making energy-saving and carbon reduction achievements visible.

Through digital means, Chinese enterprises are practicing the low-carbon concept. Wang Lei, the person in charge of Jieka Robotics, said that currently these collaborative robots can be applied to multiple fields such as industry and life. By collecting data from collaborative robots, the platform can intuitively provide users with robot operation data, such as temperature, speed, rotation speed, etc., calculate the overall energy consumption data of the robot group, help users make more accurate production scheduling, and reduce carbon emissions.
