It is expected to open a new route before June next year, and the third C919 of China Eastern Airlines will be delivered soon
"The third C919 aircraft of China Eastern Airlines is expected to be delivered in October this year. In addition to the Shanghai Chengdu route, we also plan to open some new routes before June next year to allow more passengers to experience domestic large aircraft." At the "2023 Bund Conference" China Eastern Airlines booth, the person in charge of C919 aircraft operations told reporters.
The 2023 Bund Conference is a grand event of technology, and domestic large aircraft will not be absent. Starting from September 7th, the largest domestically produced C919 aircraft model, which restored the world's first delivered aircraft painting, will be unveiled at the China Eastern Airlines exhibition booth at the Shanghai Huangpu World Expo Park.
This C919 large passenger aircraft model is replicated in a 1:10 ratio, with a length of approximately 3.8 meters and a wingspan of 3.5 meters. The front and rear sides of the fuselage are respectively printed with the "world's first" Chinese seal and the "B-919A" aircraft number, highly reproducing the appearance spray painting style of the world's first delivered C919 large passenger aircraft.
The C919 is China's first self-developed jet mainline passenger aircraft with independent intellectual property rights in accordance with international airworthiness standards. Through comprehensive cooperation, full participation, and full effort, China Eastern Airlines received the world's first delivered C919 aircraft from COMAC in December 2022 and put it into commercial flight in May 2023. At present, China Eastern Airlines has received two C919 aircraft to operate the "Shanghai Chengdu Express" flight between Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport.
The reporter also learned that starting from September 7th, two C919 aircraft will operate an additional "Shanghai Chengdu Express" flight, with two round-trip flights per day. Previously, the second C919 aircraft only operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
