To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Daxia University, one of its predecessor schools, on the evening of May 31, East China Normal University held a special performance of "Continuous Self-improvement and Guangdong China - Inheriting the Spirit of Daxia and Forging a New Journey for Normal University" at the Siqun Hall by the Liva River. held. In order to preserve its educational heritage, Daxia University moved inland to Lushan in Jiangxi, Guiyang in Guizhou, and Chishui during the Anti-Japanese War, and continued to operate for nearly nine years despite displacement. The situational sound and picture "Self-Strengthening" performed by the "Yangzhishui" Chinese Drama Club of East China Normal University reproduces the historical fragments of Daxia University's westward movement of education to save the country during the Anti-Japanese War, and vividly interprets the founder of Daxia University, President Wang Boqun, who destroyed his family to help people in trouble and devoted himself to education. And the stories of Daxia teachers and students interpreting the "three hardships spirit", the spirit of creativity and the spirit of sacrifice.
The East China Normal University Huayun Choir and the Chishui No. 1 Middle School Chorus jointly performed the Daxia University school anthem, conveying Daxia University’s ideals and beliefs of continuous self-improvement and the glory of China. Students from the School of Communication of East China Normal University recited "The Eternal Starlight" to pay homage to Xia Yuanzhen, Wu Zelin, Guo Moruo, Tian Han, Liu Zhanen, Shao Jialin, Guo Dali, Wu Liangping, Feng Baiju, Zhou Yang, Chen Bochui, Hu Hesheng and others for their contributions to the country and the times. In 1944, Daxia University, which moved westward due to the Anti-Japanese War, came to Chishui and continued to operate for nearly two years. 80 years later, teachers and students from East China Normal University launched a special teaching support operation of "Building Dreams through Education" in Chishui, Guizhou, sharing high-quality music education resources with teachers and students in Chishui, and forming a youth choir. On the evening of May 31, the Chishui No. 1 Middle School Choir came to the Liva River from the Chishui River to perform on the same stage as the top ten singers from East China Normal University.
