In 1937, the Battle of Songhu broke out, and China, which was impoverished and weak, was in danger. With a Shanghai family as the fulcrum, young people each embarked on different paths of life due to different ideas, and experienced twists and turns in the treacherous trends of the times.
Among them, a boy named Xiang Jinxi longed for Yan'an, but just before boarding the train to Yan'an, he stayed in Shanghai because of his revolutionary mission. During the long period of latent and perseverance, he completed his revolutionary transformation from a passionate youth to a mature man. The transformation of the soldiers expresses that Yan'an is never a place name, but a belief.
The inconspicuous "little man" Xiang Jinxi has become an important part of the liberation of Shanghai.
