A "mini" apartment in Shanghai has been renovated 100% after 24 years and 2 failures
"I thought I would never see the renovation in my lifetime... Now it's finally here, thanks to the Party and the government for making our dream come true." Today, Li Yaoshun, who lives at No. 1, Lane 208, Xiangde Road, Hongkou District, excitedly told reporters that he could live in a house with a separate coal and bathroom in two years. The old houses at No. 1-16, Lane 208, Xiangde Road, which only has 27 households and 82 people, were approved today after two rounds of consultation with 100% of residents signing the contract, and began to be renovated as a suite.
It is understood that the old house No. 1-16, Lane 208, Xiangde Road, was built in 1949, with a history of 75 years. There are three buildings in total, No. 1-4 are two-story buildings, and No. 5-16 are three-story buildings, which are right-of-use houses. At that time, it was built by the financial system, and later became the staff building of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. After more than 70 years of wind and rain, the walls of the houses are seriously aged, the walls of many residents' homes are falling off, the wooden stairs are seriously damaged, and the coal and sanitary facilities are used together, which makes life inconvenient. The residents are eager to look forward to the complete transformation.
Li Yaoshun, a 74-year-old resident who has lived here for 35 years, has a living area of 35 square meters. Since the bathroom is shared by three households, a few years ago, for convenience, he set aside about 3 square meters in his room and built a private bathroom. Li Yaoshun said that most residents here have their own bathrooms in their rooms to solve the inconvenience of having to "queue" to use the bathroom. In Li Yaoshun's house, you can see that the walls around are already bumpy and can only be covered with wooden boards.
Li Yaoshun told reporters that the renovation of complete houses here began in 2000, when residents had already signed contracts, but later the renovation failed due to property rights and other reasons. In 2019, the second preparation for the renovation of complete houses was made, a mobilization meeting was held, and household consultations were conducted, but it was "aborted" again due to the epidemic and other reasons. "I thought there was no hope, but I didn't expect that starting from the second quarter of this year, Ouyang Road Sub-district, Hongkou District Housing Authority, and Hongfang Group once again launched the renovation of complete houses, which gave me hope again. After the efforts of the cadres of the Ousi Residents Committee and the relevant staff of the renovation of complete houses, as well as the cooperation of the residents, both consultations were passed with 100% signing."
Chen Wenjie, Party Secretary of Ou Si Residential Area, Ouyang Road Subdistrict, said that residents of No. 1-16, Lane 208, Xiangde Road have long hoped to carry out complete set renovation. This year, with the support of the subdistrict and housing management departments, the consultation on complete set renovation was restarted. Due to the tight time and strong wishes of the residents, we overcame various difficulties, worked overtime, gave up the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, and worked with residents one by one. In particular, for elderly families living alone, their concerns should be dispelled and the practical difficulties encountered in the renovation should be solved. In this way, the consultation and signing rate reached 100 in just one month.
Wu Di, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Ouyang Road Sub-district, said that the successful renovation of No. 208 Xiangde Road has brought a better life to the residents here. The sub-district will continue to solve problems for the residents and sincerely do a good job in the "people-oriented project" to help the residents realize their dreams of renovation and living in peace as soon as possible.
It is reported that the renovation of No. 1-16, Lane 208, Xiangde Road, is expected to take two years, and the residents will move back after the transition. The renovated houses will not have additional floors, and through the north-south expansion, the kitchen and bathroom will be used independently, and the housing area of each household will also increase accordingly. "The area of our house will increase by 13 square meters after the renovation." Li Yaoshun said.
