Xi'an responds to "it's difficult for older rural youth to get married": all districts and counties should build a marriage and love platform for rural youth
What will Xi'an do to deal with the difficulties faced by older rural men in getting married?
Recently, the Xi'an Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau responded to the Municipal CPPCC member's "Suggestions on Building a Marriage and Love Platform to Expand the Social Surface of Rural Youth". In the reply letter, the Xi'an Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau sorted out the real difficulties of older rural youth in getting married, and said that all districts and counties should build a rural youth marriage and love platform, encourage and guide unmarried young people to sign up for offline blind date activities organized through the marriage and love platform. At the same time, districts and counties should give full play to the role of market matchmaking agencies, learn from the establishment of rural matchmaking platforms, and learn from Henan's "Wang Po Matchmaking" practices.
According to the Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, there are five characteristics of current rural youth marriages:
1. Postponement of marriage age. Compared with urban areas, rural youth generally marry earlier, but in recent years, more and more rural youth have postponed marriage. These rural youth are more inclined to pursue education and career development, and have higher requirements for marriage.
2. Changes in marriage and love concepts. With social changes and the spread of information, rural youth's marriage and love concepts have also changed. More and more rural youth have begun to focus on independent choice, equal treatment and common development of feelings, rather than just passively accepting the arrangements of family and society.
3. The urban-rural marriage gap. Due to the imbalance of urban and rural development, some rural youths prefer to choose urban spouses. This urban-rural marriage gap has led to marriage pressure and difficulties in some rural areas, especially marriage difficulties for women.
Fourth, the impact of economic factors. The impact of economic factors on rural youth marriage cannot be ignored. On the one hand, economic development and increased income provide rural youth with better marriage conditions and choices; on the other hand, some rural youth are more cautious about marriage due to economic pressure.
5. Conflict between traditional and modern concepts of marriage. There is a certain conflict between traditional concepts and values in rural areas and the diversity and openness of modern society. Some rural youth are facing the collision and conflict of traditional and modern concepts in marriage choices and family responsibilities. In general, the current situation of rural youth marriage is showing a trend of diversification and complexity. With the economic development, improvement of education level and changes in social concepts in rural areas, the attitudes and choices of rural youth towards marriage are also changing. However, rural youth marriage faces some challenges and difficulties, which require the attention and support of all sectors of society to provide them with a better marriage environment and development opportunities.
Older youth refer to young people who are over the marriageable age but have not yet married. The Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs analyzed that in rural areas, with the development of social economy and the improvement of education level, more and more young people choose to postpone marriage or find it difficult to find a suitable partner. The main problems include: imbalance in the ratio of men to women. Some rural areas have an imbalance in the ratio of men to women due to population outflow and men working outside the home. In this case, men face competition in finding a suitable marriage partner, which increases the difficulty of marrying a wife; education and economic gap. Some older rural youth have a large gap with urban women in education and economy. Urban women are more inclined to find partners with the same or higher education level and better economic conditions, resulting in the lack of competitiveness of older rural youth in the marriage market; the constraints of traditional concepts. Some rural areas still have traditional marriage concepts, such as the idea of favoring boys over girls, and considerations of region and kinship. These concepts limit the freedom of older rural youth in choosing marriages; wedding houses and living conditions. Marriage requires a wedding house and relatively stable living conditions, but housing resources in rural areas are limited and the pressure to buy a house is high. In addition, the relatively low level of infrastructure and public services in rural areas also brings certain difficulties for older rural youth to marry a wife.
"In short, solving the marriage problems of older young people in rural areas requires the joint efforts of the whole society, including the participation and support of the government, families, educational institutions and other parties." In the view of the Xi'an Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, comprehensive policies and measures can promote the marital happiness and family stability of older young people in rural areas.
For example, through education and publicity, we can improve rural youth's understanding of marriage, strengthen the cultivation of family values, encourage them to deal with marriage issues rationally, and form a correct view of marriage as soon as possible; strengthen the construction of the social security system by improving the social security system, provide better pension, medical care, housing and other welfare benefits, reduce the economic pressure of older youth, and increase their sense of security in marriage; through the provision of marriage and family education courses, help rural youth understand the responsibilities and management of marriage, and enhance the ability of couples to communicate and support each other; through rural industrial support policies and employment and entrepreneurship support, provide more development opportunities and economic security, attract older youth to return to rural areas, and promote the balance of the marriage market.
In terms of building a marriage and love platform, the Xi'an Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau said that it will support the Communist Youth League, Women's Federation and other departments to build a marriage and love dating and marriage service platform for rural youth to broaden the marriage channels. Provide more marriage opportunities for older rural youth through social activities to help them broaden the range of partner choices. First, learn from the experience and practices of other places. All districts and counties should build a rural youth marriage and love platform, encourage and guide unmarried young people to sign up for offline blind date activities organized through the marriage and love platform. At the same time, districts and counties should give full play to the role of market matchmaking agencies, learn from the organization to establish a rural matchmaking platform, learn from the practice of "Wang Po Matchmaking" in Henan, and ensure the effectiveness of the matchmaking platform. It aims to solve the problem of blind date difficulties for the majority of rural young people of marriageable age through systematic and comprehensive matchmaking services, so that the majority of unmarried young people can find suitable partners. Second, all districts and counties should carry out various public welfare activities and adopt face-to-face conversations and blind date activities, aiming to advocate the boycott of high-priced gifts and create a new style of frugal and civilized marriage. Third, all districts and counties should organize the civil affairs, agriculture, women's federation, Communist Youth League, culture and other departments to hold various activities on a long-term basis, such as rural youth talent competitions, fun games, poetry and cultural recitations, rural busy festivals, and harvest festivals, to mobilize and organize young people of appropriate age to actively participate and communicate with each other to ensure the effectiveness of the activities.
