The first stage power system test of the Long March 10 series rocket was successfully completed. Test | thrust | power system
Guangming Daily, Beijing, June 14 (Reporter Wang Xiaobin) The Long March 10 series of launch vehicles, developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, successfully completed the first-stage power system test on the 14th. During the test, the engine started normally, worked stably, shut down on time, and all parameters were tested normally. This is the first large-scale system-level ground test of the Long March 10 series of rockets. The matching of the first-stage booster delivery system and the engine, the propellant filling process, the multi-machine parallel power transmission and environmental characteristics were fully verified, marking that the Long March 10 series of rockets have fully entered the fast lane of large-scale ground test development.
The Long March 10 series rockets are three-and-a-half-stage rockets developed for the manned lunar exploration project to launch a new generation of manned spacecraft and lunar landers. The rocket is 92.5 meters long, weighs about 2,189 tons at takeoff, has a takeoff thrust of about 2,678 tons, and has a carrying capacity of no less than 27 tons for the Earth-Moon transfer orbit. The non-boosted configuration rocket derived from this type of rocket is about 67 meters long, weighs about 740 tons at takeoff, has a takeoff thrust of about 892 tons, and has a low-Earth orbit carrying capacity of no less than 14 tons. It can carry out space station astronaut and cargo transportation missions, and the first stage has a reusable function.
The power system test is the ground development test with the most systems, the most complex conditions and the greatest difficulty in the development of launch vehicles. According to Xu Hongping of the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, the power system test of the Chang-10 series rockets is the simultaneous ignition of three YF-100K engines in the first stage. It is the largest power system test in the development process of my country's launch vehicles at this stage. The ground thrust reaches 382 tons, which is 1.6 times higher than the previous largest test.
According to the subsequent development plan, the Long March 10 series rocket will carry out the second test run of the first-stage power system in the near future to further verify other working conditions, laying a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the manned lunar exploration project.
